Rasmussen daily graph for 4/27/08 - Obama up 1 (48), Clinton down 1 (42)
Excitement over. Such as it was.

(Pretend that the 10 and 20 lines are actually 0. Does anyone know how to make Excel label different parts of the axis differently?)

1. The trend is remarkably stable
The second graph implies that the blips are just that.

2. HRC never seems to get past 49%.
I think that was her all-time high, and it was only while the Wright story was breaking. In other words, she only does "well" when Obama has a bad week and dips below her. She doesn't take the lead, ever.

Just my observation.

8. Yeah, she definitely has a ceiling. It's probably because she's fundamentally an unlikable person.

4. Nah, Hillary has the momentum coming out of PA
And will be on an even bigger roll after winning Indiana. It's far from over.

6. what momentum? Since PA Obama has won more Super Delegates
his national polls are pretty stable and most Indiana polls indicate that he may be a bit ahead meanwhile he continues to dominate in North Carolina. I'm making no predictions about Indiana--it will be close but if Obama wins a landslide in NC (he will get many more delegates out of NC, I think, than Hill got out of PA) and wins Indiana then the Supers will begin to tell Hill to get out of the race, and if she doesn't they will really start coming out enmasse to endorse him.

11. Yep
Even Gallup, which shows them tied, should be viewed with caution. Considering Rasmussen and Newsweek, Gallup's numbers probably result from a couple of odd days. Next week, I think (yes, and hope), will probably show Obama moving ahead by 5-10 points again.

Which should be enough to convince any wavering superdelegates who are worried about national polls.

12. How many pledged delegates does she get from that momentum?
0.

5. first full tracking poll after PA. results on day of PA were 49-41 Obama
now 48-42--no real change. Obama and McCain are tied 46-46 while Hillary is behind 47-45. McCain beats Hill among white voters by 11 and Obama by 12, yet Obama "dominates" among black voters while Hill "just" 59%.

10. Spin it however the Hillary people will, it's over
Obama will be the candidate.

Now it's up to the Clintonites to decide if they'll help him win the presidency or if they'll help McCain win.
