Did Sherri Jacobus, Republican Strategist, just say that Rev. Wright
should have kept his head down and his mouth shut?

I'm so angry, I can't even think right now.

10. LISTEN TO ME VERY CAREFULLY (AND THIS IS MY OPINION ONLY).
NO Preacher is going to keep his/her head down and Keep Quiet

BECAUSE THEIR CONGREGATION DOESN'T WANT THEM TO!!

If a preacher has something on their mind that they want to get out to their constituents, THEY'RE GOING TO SAY IT. PERIOD, END OF STORY!!

THAT is truth to power!

42. Yo Mar.... it's not that the congregations don't want them to keep quiet...
It's just that the Truth won't let them stay quiet,

nor 'keep their head down.'

The truth just won't keep still...

The arrogance of these people! (not you, Mar.. those
folks who need to keep the status quo...)

Every time she opens her mouth, she vomits up something repulsive and vile. It's what she gets paid to do, I guess.

Why would a Republican strategist be speaking on the well being of Obama in regards to this Rev Wright madness? It's good that Rev. Wright got out there and the Repigs know it.

17. I liked what he said. And I am one of those old white women
that is said to go for Clinton. I have been for Obama from day one. His Pastor sure does not make me dislike Obama as I think his Pastor is right. Even if he was wrong who cares what he thinks. I am voting for Obama not Wright. Heck even Clinton had this guy in the WH for his little sex to-do business. Wonder if both Clinton's talked to him? Course the UCC I used to go to was more on the NE style. Much duller in tone. May as well get it all out and let it go and not fester in the back ground.

47. They did not like Lynn when he was speaking out either.
I think that is his name. He used to be the in the group that sends lawyers to help odd problems if you recall. I am sure he was a Pastor in that church also. It was not a church much liked in the South as I grew up in that church and re-c all the stuff said about it when I lived in the South. I think you will also find that Dean is a member of the same group of churches. I am not sure just what people dislike about it so but they do push free thinkers.

Wright told blacks to just give up when it came to education? after all that he said today?

Whoever that was, that was quite a corrupt way of putting words into someone's mouth.

32. If he was standing outside of the Faux News studio this would be a legitimate comment
However, he was speaking at the NAACP dinner and Sherri Jacobus is out of line. If she doesn't want to hear him, she and the whole media should get the hell out of his face and stop stalking him.

What an absolutely pompous comment.

34. is this a perfect quote 'Head down, mouth shut?"
you are kidding me right?

I knew a Black fellow that got arrested for hitchhiking in the South once. He was a little too "uppity" for the local police. So they kept him without access to an attorney or arraignment for over a week. He was in an unlit, windowless basement cell... subjected to daily beatings... until he became willing to bow his head, and keep his mouth shut.

They finally let him loose without even seeing a judge... escorted him to the county line.

Head down, mouth shut?

HEAD DOWN, MOUTH SHUT?

HEAD DOWN, MOUTH SHUT?

I am SO ready to kick some ass. UN-FLIPPING-BELIEVABLE

when the transcript comes out look it up. It pissed me off.

And that story is so damn sad. I am sorry for your friend.

OKAY - I rewound it, she was saying that he should've waited to speak,

Roland, "waited until when" - and what she said, exactly;

"he could've rehabilitated himself in different ways, he could have been more contrite this evening."

Anyway - I loved Soledad OBrien's take on Wright's speech; she was clearly very moved by it.
