Troubling, Controversial, Bombastic, Incendiary, Divisive And Problematic For The Obama Campaign...
These are just some of the descriptive characterizations I've heard used to portray Rev. Wright in a negative way this morning. As a white man I didn't find his sermons, his recent interview with Bill Moyers and these two speeches anything but reasonable. Of course, I had previously made the effort to listen to more than just the soundbites of the M$M's snippet reel of "greatest hits". Most of the lazy media punditry apparently hasn't. They are much less interested in the substance of what he has to say than the "gotcha moment" of words taken out of context. What really troubles me the most about the whole thing is how Obama has been forced to distance himself from what I have come to consider a very intelligent spokesman for the black community.
It's kind of a pleasant surprise that many of Hillary's supporters here have spoken up today for the veracity of Rev. Wright's statements.
4. Sure, Some Of Them Are At Least Latently Racist...
But those who aren't but have felt compelled to opine on a sermon they have not even bothered to listen to in it's entirety are just lazy slugs that should be called out on their dishonesty.
He's trying to find ways to get beyond the media to the actual people out in America to get the truth to them. The media wants to go with the image of Wright that they've created. Not he's gone and spoiled al their fun by letting us see the real person.
Obama did this too with his speech on race. Tell the people directly what you think instead of letting them spin you.
