"I don't like Hillary Clinton"
Edited on Fri May-02-08 01:02 AM by Labors of Hercules
I like Barack Obama.

And since anyone who would argue with me about it doesn't give a shit what I think anyway, that's really all I have to say about that.

3. I don't care.
I also like Senator Obama. However, some of his supporters should be ashamed of themselves. I think the younger ones are giddy at being allowed to sit at the grownups' table, and sometimes they forget why they are there.

ain't about them, and they need to buy themselves a clue about what life is really about, and it ain't just about them.

6. You Would Be Well Advised To Take Your Own Advice
Weren't you the one confidently predicting that Clinton would drop out before EVER releasing her tax returns, for example? Along with a number of other arrogant assertions and smug presumptions that never came to anything. So perhaps you are a few clues short of a tankful yourself, hmmm?

12. Hear, hear!!!!!!!
That's all this supporter of Obama has done for months now. Obama is still an inexperienced guy running for one of the most difficult jobs in the world. He may yet win the nomination, but I doubt that he'll be elected in November.

25. inexperienced?
What "experience" does Hillary have that Obama doesn't? hmmmm... first lady of Arkansas and first lady of the United States (neither of which she was elected to) and Senator from New York.

So, basically, Obama has held ELECTED office TWICE as long as Hillary, and accomplished roughly TWICE as much as a result.

18. Frenchiecat...a real question follows
Edited on Fri May-02-08 11:41 AM by TheDudeAbides
I'm seriously curious...not meant to be pointing the finger.

Do you have a mortgage? If so, how long have you had one?
Do you have adult responsibilities yet?

It's ok if you don't; there was a time when we were all "free".
But, it all becomes more serious once you become responsible
for others (like your kids, wife, parents, etc).

Forgive me if I mistook your post; I got the impression that you are saying that
you are young.

23. Ok thanks...maybe you can help me understand...
sounds like we're in similar circumstances in our lives.
I never know if the poster is 15, 22, or 40+ years old,
so it's hard to understand the context of people's post.

Can you help me understand your perspective:

"Well I think that some of the Old Clinton supporters forgot that everything
ain't about them, and they need to buy themselves a clue about what life is
really about, and it ain't just about them."

What do you mean by that? What am I missing by supporting the person who I believe has the better resume for the job?

28. If by grownups' table you mean your high horse
where from you shamelessly display your condescending attitude of entitlement, then yes it's true, you certainly do deserve a league of your own.

7. Deja vu
I remember talking with people during Bush / Gore days...people who I think agree with Gore's platform.
But they'd say "I really just don't like Al Gore."

...and the rest is history. They voted for Bush.

Sometimes...the best, most qualified candidate who actually understands the issues....sometimes that person isn't somebody you want to hang out with.

...here we go again. High school popularity contest. Oh...and this time, we're not gonna let the 10th grade vote because their class leaders violated the rules.

11. There's are a few rather blatant differences in your deja vu...
Edited on Fri May-02-08 09:43 AM by Labors of Hercules
First, this is a PRIMARY, not a General Election.

Second, it is between two exceedingly intelligent, talented and strongly presidential people with very different campaign styles and methodologies.

Third, there are a myriad of very solid reasons Obama is my candidate and not Clinton, but the implied shallowness of the "like meme" was a direct response to another post with the subject "I like Hillary Clinton", and was tongue-in-cheek.

14. What did you expect
when you posted the OP?

I mean.. You act all kinds of shocked.

Not everyone sees every post made in this crazy making place. You are baiting people into an argument so quit pretending that you don't know this.

Not that I much care but why the phony outrage?

An OP like this only makes the DU Primary pages even more insane than they have been for the last couple of months.

BTW, I am not trying to get all over your ass, just hoping for less flame and more game.

16. thanks
thanks for the thoughtful reply (no sarcasm intended).

I actually like to think of this Primary as the GE. But, I've really started to question
that now that I've lost confidence in Obama winning the GE.

Time will tell and I'll support whomever we (including FL and MI) choose.
If there is no revote in Fl and MI, then I will leave the "Democratic" party.
Sorry, but that's my right.

yea...I know..."don't let the door hit you on your way out" and cliches constantly posted by DUers.
(my tone is not meant for you, Labors of Hercules)

24. "don't let the door hit you on your way out..."
I agree with you regarding re-enfranchising FL and MI, but it is up to these states individually to make the right decision on behalf of their voters.

I disagree that the door should hit you on your way out because you are thinking constitutionally, and that is what really matters...

26. Oh, I seriously doubt that...
As I can't even imagine a scenario where Obama realistically gives ANYONE reason enough to dislike him as much as Hillary has given me reason to thoroughly dislike her and her shitty underhanded campaign...

But you can feel free to enlighten me if you feel so inclined.
