Obama not won Guam yet - Officials will not certify due to anomalies

Hundreds of spoiled ballots and loads missing
Officials say recount is imminent
Pacific News Center Staff Reporter 04.MAY.08
9:30 a.m. Guam – Herbie Perez, Democrat Party Nominating Committee Chairperson, says officials will look over the large amount of “spoiled” ballots in the coming days. At issue is small margin of victory for Senator Barack Obama. He beat his rival Senator Hillary Clinton by 7 votes, but well over 500 ballots were deemed invalid during the tabulation process. Perez says she will not certify the results because the Committee needs to ensure all were properly identified as “spoiled.” She says officials from the Party and representatives from both candidates will meet probably Monday or Tuesday to address that issue.

She is also looking into missing ballots. In total, over 8,100 were printed in response to reports of shortages at precinct sites. But when the final vote count was given, only a little over 4.500 ballots were used.

But over here the MSM and this site is going to act crazy over an Island that shouldn't get to weigh in on the nominee when they can't vote in the GE.

23. I've been saying this
Since before the primaries began. Puerto Rico should not get to vote when they constantly vote against being a state. They want to vote than pony up to the table and become the 51st state...until than no vote for you. In the past 20 years they've voted on not becoming a state numerous times and if they became a state they would help the democrats because they would add a few electoral votes to our freaking column automatically probably two senators and a house member or two as well.

Don't get me started on Puerto Rico and their refusal to join this country.

3. It doen't matter. The split of the pledged delegates is still going to be 2-2
we knew that 4 months ago and no matter what happens it is going to be 2-2. sigh

6. Crazy stuff but not unexpected in such a close result
Could go either way but won't affect 2-2 split for pledged and, more importantly, the 400+ margin for the pro-Obama SD slate.

They had to have an automatic recount and check anomalies when it was less than 1% difference.

Its usual.

If they recount and she ends up winning by seven votes instead of him, they'll both end up with the same number of supers.

The delegates are still split 2/2. 500 ballots out of 4500 is only 11%, so even if they all go toward one candidate it doesn't seem to have all that much significance.

If that result isn't overturned, I fear Guam will be dead to her.

Which stood way out from the rest of the precincts. I'm guessing that's what is going on.

49. Yes, it is Dededo with the "ballot problem" as suspected
"While Obama led for the vast majority of the night's tallying, Clinton needed a strong finish in the municipality of Dededo, Guam's most populous village. And she did - gaining 61% of the 822 votes counted by the Democratic Party of Guam.

Note: these are unofficial, uncertified results as tabulated by the Democratic Party of Guam. The DPG also noted a high number of spoiled ballots in Dededo."
