How is this not media INTERFERENCE in the upcoming primaries? CNN-LKL-"Can Obama Recover from Wright?" MSNBC-Dan Abrams-(Some special on Wright. vs. Obama) Faux-all day coverage as usual. Meanwhile, Faux is re-airing their interview of Hillary on O'Reilly which was thought to be a "great job" by Hillary? Please. :eyes:

1. Yeah but it's a non-issue, and it didn't hurt him, and it wouldn't hurt him in the general
Edited on Sat May-03-08 08:25 PM by Hoof Hearted
So what do you care?

14. Newsflash. It already was an issue. Obama wouldn't be doing pressers on NON-issues. ITS AN ISSUE
get used to it.

Bosnia was an issue, Clinton handled it in a relatively short period of time with a lengthy, unambiguous apology in the debate. Obama keeps contradicting himself and waffling and refusing to follow through with substantial answers. He keeps trying to brush it off instead. If he HAD handled it well, it would be gone by now, but it's not. That's kind of the definition of an issue.

16. Hillary said that she said something she knew not to be true. That's not an apology.
And before that she made several excuses. Hillary's drama coach needs to be fired. The media dropped her sniper fire lie because "conveniently" the Wright controversy came out just as Bill Clinton brought the lie back by lying about why she lied about it.

3. This might be bad in the short term, but GREAT in the long-term
I realized as I saw some of it on CNN, that it seemed more of Obama's renouncing the Rev. than about what the Rev said. They kept playing Obama's words about meaning what he said when he denounced the pastor, about how the Reverend doesn't speak for his campaign, etc etc etc.

This will go a long way in 2 ways:
1. Taking this off the table for the GE
2. Convincing people that Obama has denounced his former pastor and has moved on.

6. Yeah, but I think the media has an agenda to keep this in the mind of voters...
I see SDs not falling for it, but I can't stand how the media keeps it IN the media and then asks how long this story will stay in the media. :eyes:

15. Ya but now the Wrong story is on!
The story is how if Obama did enough on denouncing the Rev. and why it took him so long etc. The end result is that more and more people are hearing that he has renounced the Reverend.

The overall coverage favoring right wing talking points from the all types of media has to be examined and evened out.

As a matter of fact, they play clips of these two shows making fun of them.

THEY are in control of Wright's effect on Obama. Surely they know this already.

28. they have really overdone it because
they can't find anything substantial. I just remember how Bill's approval ratings soared when the stupid repukes tried to impeach him over Monica and every newsoutlet was doing major coverage of every titillating morsel they could dig up---on and on and on for hours and hours.

The Wright issue has the same feeling. Only the people who are looking for an excuse use it as an issue.

Ultimately, it was almost pro-Obama. He had the better advocates and Joy Behar was pretty pro-Obama as well.

The repeat with Michael Moore is on tomorrow.

35. Corporate media trying to destroy the Democratic Party.
Tools of corporatism, they know this contest is dividing the Dem Party. They hope to do as much damage as possible by playing the two sides off each other and dragging it out as long as possible.

They are clearly undermining democracy but if you challenge them they will no doubt hide behind the 1st Amendment. This is what we get without some kind of Fairness Doctrine to temper their manipulative ways.
