24. I loved number 3
But I also was taken with number 2 and the last one. The look on Sasha's face with her outstretched arms reaching for the safety of her dad's outstretched arms. Magnificent.

16. Thank you very much for posting these great photos, flpoljunkie
I am familiar with Kempton, but not with the house in the photos. The Barnetts lived in Kempton for generations. Their descendants have moved on, and moved out.

19. All of These Indiana Pictures Lately
have been making me homesick! But, not enough to move back there. But I do think it's time for a visit! Good thing it's almost summer and time to take my boys to stay with family for a month. They LOVE spending summers there. Fishing, waterskiing, tubing, county fairs and being spoiled rotten by family. It doesn't get any better than that for a couple of boys!

22. Fashion digression
I just want to comment on the complete courage of Michelle Obama to jettison the candidate's wife garb and don an orange (I repeat, orange) t-shirt and "ballet flats" with a lilac cardigan and skinny jeans. If she becomes first lady, she will make as much fashion news as Jackie Kennedy did in her day. How refreshing to see a new kind of woman with a new kind of style.

(P.S. I've given high praise to Hillary for her campaign makeover. And it's appropriate for her age. Although I am closer to Hillaryl's age than Michelle's, I must say I'm tired of seeing the female politician's uniform. Hooray for orange ballet flats!)

Michelle was wearing, frazzled. I didn't see that & I really like the whole unique mix it up theme in wearing clothes. It's a statement.

The lady in photo 7 with the teal jacket looks like she's crying ... is that the case? Perhaps overcome? And those Obama girls are going to be very beautiful like their mama!

30. So they made their kids wear skates but didn't themselves? How noble.
And, btw,

since when the fuck do you skate indoors at a "picnic?"

Ugh.

I've been forcing my kids to take twenty dollars out of my pocket on friday nights and put those damn things on their feet and spin around in circles INDOORS for years now. Someone call child services. I have finally seen skating for the torture and demeaning activity that it truly is.

Thank you anonymous DU poster for helping me see the light.
