Whats with the foot-long posts?
Anyone can cut and paste. Making a post that takes 15 minutes to read isn't more likely to persuade someone than a cogent argument with a few bullet points.

I'm just sayin' :shrug:

5. Unless the OP is by an excellent writer,
my eyes tend to glaze over after the first three paragraphs. It takes little thought to write a long article; to be short and concise takes time. This is illustrated by a story of Woodrow Wilson. Someone asked him to make a speech, and wanted to know how much lead time he needed. Wilson supposedly answered, "If you wish me to speak for 15 minutes, I'll need two weeks minimum. If you wish me to speak for half an hour, a week; if you wish me to speak for two hours or longer, I'm ready right now."

Heard --- an exchange between Barack Obama and Tim Russert just before "Meet the Press" was aired.

Russert : “How long does it take you to prepare a spontaneous answer if you are only given one minute to respond to a question ”?

Obama : “Two hours”,

Russert : “What about a two minute response ”?

Obama : “One hour”, he said.

Russert : “And if you are allowed 10 minutes to answer ”?

Obama blurts out : “I’m ready right now”!!

Russert : "Roll the cameras ! -- We have a whole hour !"
