"Legitimate questions about Obama’s judgment and naivete."
Joe Wilson has Obama pegged.

SANTA FE, N.M. - In recent weeks Americans have been subjected to a litany of outrageous statements from Sen. Barack Obama's pastor of 20 years, Rev. Jeremiah Wright. While Obama was finally compelled to distance himself from his radical preacher, the relationship raises legitimate questions about Obama's judgment and naivete.

Obama, after all, wants to be president of the United States, and in that quest has proposed unconditional summit meetings with some of our country's most determined enemies, including Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Obama's campaign has been built upon his supposed transcendent qualities and intuitive judgment. His foreign policy experience is limited to having lived in Indonesia between the ages of 6 and 10, and having traveled overseas briefly as a college student. He further claims that a speech he gave against the war in Iraq six years ago to extremely liberal supporters in a campaign for state senator in Illinois is sufficient proof of his superior judgment in national security matters and qualifies him to be president and commander-in-chief of U.S. Armed Forces at a time when we are fighting two extraordinarily difficult wars. As with his relationship with Wright, a closer examination is warranted.

23. Bill Clinton was either horrificly naive or complicit when he deep-sixed BCCI matters for GHWBush.
But then, Joe isn't a big fan of fully holding Poppy Bush to account right? Just like Bill.

5. From this point on, any post or article that starts with Wright is wrong for me.
It's rightwing talk and a scare tactic. I've got other issues, like healthcare and wages and high gas and food prices and jobs and that war that keeps killing our troops.

Shut up, Joe. Your 15 minutes are up. Back to irrelevance.

13. oh good grief, Joe.
from the op ed
President Bush and Secretary of State Colin Powell made it clear publicly and in their representations to Congress that the authorization was not to go to war but rather to give the president the leverage he needed to go to the United Nations to reinvigorate international will to contain and disarm Saddam Hussein, consistent with the resolutions passed at the time of the first Gulf War.

Lemme get this straight, Joe: after all you & Valerie have been through, you're still giving even a shred of credibility to GWB? I don't believe it.
These guys BETRAYED YOUR COUNTRY by OUTING YOUR NOC WIFE, then proceeded to SLANDER YOUR GOOD NAME, and here you are still giving bushco the benefit of the doubt on the Iraq War Resolution??

So, which cabinet position did HRC promise you anyway?

14. When my ex used to drag me to church...
I didn't really agree with everything the minister said.

Of course, to be fair, he was boring. Much of his sermon went right over my head. To really grasp what he was saying would ave required a doctorate in theology. Very little he said was truly controversial.

The church we attended did a lot of good work in the community. I had no problems donating money to this church. For example, the church helped migrant workers in our area by providing food, clothing and blankets during the winter months.

I've watched some entire sermons by Rev. Wright and also watched some recent interviews on the news. I found his appearance at the the National Press Club and at the NAACP fascinating and thought provoking. I didn't agree with all his viewpoints but he made some very interesting points.

Had the minister of my church had the fire and charisma and the views of Rev. Wright, I would have found the time I spent in church much more enjoyable. I would have disagreed violently with many of the views he presented, but that wouldn't have stopped me from listening to his sermons. His views would have challenged my own, but would have given me the opportunity to question my own thinking. Growth occurs through the process of evaluating your own assumptions and beliefs.

I feel you can learn something from everyone you meet or watch on TV. Exposing yourself to other ideas can be rewarding and educational. Most people only want to watch those they agree with. I have to admit this is a much simpler approach to life.

So to sum up, had I been in the congregation of Rev. Wrights church, I wouldn't have left merely because I disagreed with him. As long as I felt the church was doing good in the community it served and therefore was a positive influence, I would have continued to attend and enjoy his sermons.

18. Too late for all that. The voters have made up their minds and
shit like this post, although it may make you feel a little tug in your self-righteous muscle, means precisely DICK in terms of changing anyone's mind around here.

I guess the reason you post stuff like this is to help everybody stay on their toes for the onslaught of Republican't bullshit coming after Obama is nominated. Right?

20. Another hack hit piece by Wilson? He's gone round the bend.
"Obama repeats the incorrect and politically irresponsible mantra that Sen. Hillary Clinton voted for the war and that therefore he is more qualified to be president."

Wilson is just as full of shit on this subject as he was when he called Obama a coward. He should apologize for his behavior.

Here are Hillary's own words, spoken as she cast her vote for war: "This is a very difficult vote. This is probably the hardest decision I have ever had to make -- any vote that may lead to war should be hard -- but I cast it with conviction."

22. Ad hominem attacks? You need to learn to use a dictionary.
Wilson is being criticized on the substance of his own "ad hominem attacks" against Obama. The facts put the lie to Wilson.

What you are exhibiting is the classic case of "projection" normally associated with the right-wing ideologues.
