Was he a Nader man?

4. Nader didn't run in the primaries. Clinton had no opposition and Bradley lasted against Gore until
super Tuesday.

I see, this is just another Obama bash thread.

I always loved Bill, but if I knew what I knew now I'm not sure I could have supported him.

32. I'd guess Bradley in 2000
Most of the Bradley volunteers that I know here in NH (myself included) were with Obama, so there seems to be a good rapport there.

Besides, Obama's a 47 year old hoops fan; think he watched a few games with Dollar Bill growing up?

I was looking for the pithy snark on each, as is the common approach these days (put "Bill Clinton sexual harrassment" in google if you really are interested). Nor do I agree that Al Gore was an elitist tree hugger. Tree hugger, sure! (So am I).

27. I admire Gore tremendously and worked on his 2000 campaign
He had what he felt were good reasons for not letting Bill Clinton help in his 2000 campaign, no one can blame him for the choices he made. In retrospect its hard to say, but he could have benefited a great deal from placing more emphasis on the accomplishments of the Clinton/Gore administration.

12. Obama
Edited on Sun May-04-08 05:25 PM by OzarkDem
He doesn't seem to have a history of advancing anyone's political futures other than his own.

Bill Clinton and Al Gore spent a lot of time during their administration traveling and fundraising for other Dem candidates and the Dem Party. For some reason, I don't see Obama wanting to perform those duties.

Didn't matter that Dems suffered under their reign.

How do you lose a 40 + year control over the House? Answer: Bill Clinton.

Obama did a lot of traveling, campaigning and fundraising in the 2006 elections, and in many by-elections since and prior. Where do you get your ideas from?

It might have just helped Yarmuth unseat a 6 term republican.

35. I don't know.
But you've been shown how he has clearly helped many Dems besides those two, and that should be what matters the most to us. But you clearly don't accept that that. It seems like you put Hillary higher than the party itself, something that in an Obama fan would surely bother you.

23. In 1992 he organized the largest voter registration drive in Chicago history
Over 100k new voters were registered and for the first time more Dems were registered in Chicago than Repubs. It helped Carol Mosely Braun and Bill Clinton secure victories in Chicago.

He campaigned frequently during the elections of 2004 and 2006.

38. As a lifelong Democrat ic voter who never opted for Perot, e.g.
I'm voting for Hilary Clinton ... take that DU. I will never vote for the liar Barak. He claims he's a 20+ member of that church where he didn't disagree with his pastor. I left my Catholic Church when I realized my Sunday contributions at Mass and my tuition payments to Catholic grammar schools and Catholic High Schools and Catholic higher education (e.g., Seton Hall Univ for my eldest)were being spent for legal fees for pedophiles. I haven't joined another religion but I will say that when my religious leader (our priest) didn't tell me precisely what my $$$ was eventually defending, I left.
