Let's be honest: Matt Drudge prefers Obama to Hillary ...

I'm under no illusions about it continuing into the general election, but it's pretty clear that Drudge favors Obama to Hillary. He made no mention at all of the post-Wright Gallup and Rasmussen polls showing Hillary leading, but he shows the CBS poll today giving Obama a big lead. He's favored Obama pretty consistently- he gave little attention to Wright's new comments this week, just a small story halfway down the page. In fact, he gave little attention to Wright's original "GD America" remarks- ABC News' website had reported on them for a full day before Drudge even mentioned them.

With all the dirt flying around in the campaign, Drudge's tacit support over Hillary is a pretty big asset for Obama in the primaries.

One is Mini, while the other plays Mini Me.

Drudge is a piece of shit that hates Obama and Hillary. He'd shit on one and
piss on the other on a matter of preference.

And he's asset to no one but the republican party.

Of Obama wearing the African garb? That story was completely made by Drudge giving it the attention he did. He controls the national political discourse more than anyone else- period. He tells us what we need to get worked up about and what we can ignore.

It's actually kind of scary, but I don't discount his influence and so am glad he's apparently on Obama's side now. Honestly, Gallup and Rasmussen's sudden shift could have gotten big play, but it got no mention at all.

Because he isn't on your side. Not now. Not ever. :shrug:

I think Matt and the Clintonistas had a falling out. Matt used to love Hillary and promoted her often on his now defunct radio show. I noticed that things started to change when the Clinton team gave Drudge the photo of Obama in traditional Kenyan clothes. I think they wanted Matt to post the picture on his website but not list them as the source. Matt didn't want to take the blame and did list the Clinton team as the source and ever since then Matt has been extremely fair to Obama.

I like going to the Drudge report now. Whodda thunk it?

At no point was his website favorable to Clinton.

he never provided proof that the Clinton campaign sent it to him, even though he was requested to.

He also posts flattering pictures of Obama, pumping him up whenever he can, almost always the day before a primary.

He posts nothing but unflattering pictures of Hillary.

He ignores any story that could damage Obama and wildly promotes any story that could damage Hillary.

He made up the Muslim Photo controversy by saying it came from the Clinton camp, and NEVER could provide proof - emails or any proof at all.

He made the story up to smear CLinton and the media bought into it.

He is driven by irrational hatred of the Clintons and this will come back to bite all progressives in the butt.

That is why if Hillary were the nominee, the Republican base would be energized beyond belief. The Clinton's are the Republicans number #1 nemesis. If Hillary ever made it into the Whitehouse they would go insane.

Neither O'Reilly nor Rush have the same power to control what the mainstream media talks about as being a "big story."

If Drudge puts something on his front page and leaves it there all day in big letter it is GOING to get talked about, if it has any potential at all as a mainstream story.

Drudge has totally laid off Obama and tends to nail Hillary. Drudge is more of the reality of the Republican party and how they really feel. They HATE Hillary with a passion!!!! She could bring out their base in record numbers.

I don't think Drudge likes either Democrat though

The picture had already been posted on the web. It was in the public domain. He put it up and lied about where it came from to smear Hillary.

And a lot of the press bought into it.

And over eager Obama supporters did too, because hell, who cares where favors come from, right?
