Yup, sorry for those of you who worked yourself into a Rezko induced frenzy - no one cares.

If Rezko cops a plea, as many are saying has been indicated by his lack of a defense presentation, he could pull a Wright, and talk a lot more about things Obama would not like him to talk about. After all, Rezko knows full well the problem areas Obama has had to reiterate, how many times now? And how much additional money has Obama already needed to give to charity because of the trial?

That's it, it's done. No long drawn out trial. Obama was barely mentioned at the trial and no it wasnt front page news.

That's it...it's over, done. There's no talk of a deal, it's simply done.

There is a good chance, however, it is not done. The government closed its case against Rezko with a witness that claimed to the jury he was being shaken down for alleged bribes by Rezko frequently, and he also claimed to have bought his state post through Rezko by making hefty campaign donations. Oops. Campaign donations?

Obama did nothing wrong in the instance of his pastor. However the fallout was brutal. This could or could not also happen with Rezko. If it does, it will be ethical shallowness at a minimum.

Unsubstantiated rumors are thick. An excellent example of this: The CBS TV affiliate in Chicago is speculating that Tony Rezko may try to cut a deal with prosecutors in his ongoing corruption trial. If so, it could spell trouble for others.

There is less to this case than there was to White Water, which was exactly NOTHING!

Rezko, a businessman who played all sides of the political scene. donated to Republicans, and Democrats. Rezko had his picture taken as he stood beaming between a smiling Bill and Hillary Clinton. A shrewd player, Rezko quickly recognized the talent and potential of Senator Barack Obama and made donations to his campaigns just as he had to many other Illinois Republicans and Democrats. And that's the extent of the link to Senator Obama, or Senator Clinton for that matter. Saying otherwise is doing the work of the RNC. Be ashamed. Be very ashamed.

The most salacious detail that came out of this case was testimony that alleged a plot involving the former treasurer of the Republican National Committee and Karl Rove in conspiring to remove Federal Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald from his post during the middle of the Scooter Libby/Gonzales 8 scandals of 2006-2007.

I concur. Bringing up Rezko would be like bringing up Marc Rich or some other Clinton connection. Time to start paying attention to the REAL news. 140,000+ troops in Iraq, Bush just sent another aircraft carrier to the Middle East, economy on the brink, etc.

Actually, I was agreeing with ccharles00's statement, saying that bringing up Rezko is like bringing up someone for the Clintons. Guilt by association leads us to the false conclusion that we are getting to know our candidate better when we hardly are accomplishing that.

And Obama did not lower himself to her level.

I think it lost a lot of steam after Obama sat down with the editorial boards of the Sun Times and the Tribune and answered all of their questions.
