Kerry, Bush about even in new Missouri poll

Associated Press

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Voters in the battleground state of Missouri are torn between President Bush and Democrat John Kerry, according to a poll published Thursday that shows the candidates about even.

The Massachusetts senator is ahead in the poll, 46 percent to 44 percent, but that is within the margin of error of 4 percentage points. Independent Ralph Nader was supported by just 1 percent, with 9 percent undecided.

It never ceases to amaze me how the Whore Press bends over backwards to soften the bad news for Boy King

1. Well...
It is within the margin of error, so it is still up for grabs. In reality, Bush might be leading.
Just like Kerry might be leading in any number of states that show Bush ahead by a few points.

2. True, but maybe Kerry is leading 50 to 40.

3. It is the trend that is encouraging - Many states moving toward Kerry and
NONE getting stronger for Bush. Last week one poll showed Arizona stronger for Bush but that was reversed this week and it is now narrowly in the Kerry column. This trend has continued despite the heavy anti-Kerry ads being run by Bush in the Battlaground states - that is what is encouraging. I am thinking that this race now is beginning to resemble the 1992 race in an almost uncanny way. If things continue as they are, Kerry will come out of the convention with a 5- 10 point lead nationally and leads in nearly all of the Battleground states that he will never relinquish. There will still be ebb and flow and the national polls will tighten a little right before the election, just as they did in 1992 but in the end it will be a fairly large EV win for Kerry, at least 350 EVs.

4. I am truly shocked we are even tied in MO.
Last time, election polls showed MO out of reach, but it was close on election day.

5. How much do you want to bet that if the numbers were reversed . . .
the AP headline would read: "Bush Leads Kerry in new Missouri Poll"?
