What's her point?
Edited on Tue May-06-08 09:56 PM by autorank
She didn't even get a confirmed win in Indiana yet.

Even if there is a winning margin, there are two problem:

1) It was "too close to call" - she didn't win this like she won Pennsylvania.

2) The Supreme Court of the United States interfered in this election by upholding the
discriminatory Indiana Voter Identification law, one that suppresses turnout by 10% and
that discriminates against blacks, the young and the less educated.

1. The more I listen, the more I think she's just going through the motions
She just can't really admit it's over, but she's doing her best to put a brave face on it and deliver her speech, but it does seem that her heart and soul are just not in it. This turned out just exactly the opposite of what she expected, and I think the wind has been taken out of her sails more than a little bit tonight.

8. I think you're right - robo candidate now
Why does she need to be tough? Just before Clinton responded to the question about Iran, "Good Morning America" reporter Brian Cuomo asked, "Is winning enough for you." Clinton responded, "I have to win, I believe that’s my task and I’m going to do everything I can to win."

In the video of that remark, the part about "I believe that's my task" is delivered very blandly.

I think you're right. So why now just throw in the towel.

Aren't the talking heads awful tonight...Matthews has reached new depths of inanity.

11. I know
The "interference" I referred to was their affirmation of the law that is so utterly indefensible.

Here's the impact of photo ID laws from a nationwide survey by Rutgers Univ and Moritz School of
Law researchers based on an evaluation of the 2004 results.

Photo ID suppresses turnout. There was much more evidence to support this, specific to Indiana too,
and "the Supremes" just blew it away (more on that soon;)a

But they're acting now like they're super duper important.

12. Good point
Granylib had a good point. She could just be gong through the motions only to withdraw in a few days which would make tonight's comments her "last meal" so to speak. But is these are contested, good lard, that would get ugly.

16. You mean blacks, the ELDERLY and the less educated...right?
Cause the elderly often don't bother renewing their IDs after they've stopping driving due to lost eyesight, hearing, physical ability, etc.?
