Don't want Clinton for VP?
Will you refuse to vote for Obama if she is? I rest my case.

Without her on the ticket, Obama loses the older vote, the fence-sitter votes, the rural votes. Withoout those, he cannot and will not win. Kid yourself if you must, but it aint gonna happen. While your sitting back in your chair wonderin what went wrong come November, this was your chance.

With them both on the ticket, we cannot lose. I am sure we will see an Obama/Clinton ticket in November. It hasn't happened yet because neither candidate can win via pledged votes, and there are enough SDs still out to swing the vote. As long as she has a chance, she must try, she owes it to her supporters. I would expect the same of Obama were the tables turned.

We will go to convention without a nominee. The SDs want to make the right decision, backroom meetings will occur, strategy will be discussed, the right decision will be made.

Think I'm wrong?

I don't know if you are wrong or right.
But I will vote for Obama regardless of who his VP pick is.

And even if the running mate could make a big difference (and they usually don't), there are plenty of other people who could attract Hillary voters.

23. Think a vice president does not make a big difference? Think "Dick Cheney".
I think the old ideas of vice presidents being worth "a warm bucket of spit" has change forever. A vice presidential choice might make a difference, but I do not think that Obama would ever pick Clinton because that would be an insult to the intelligence of the American voters--I don't think they would ever buy it.

5. Dems always have a hard time with that rural white working class vote..so that's that..but Hill
doesn't need to be VP for Obama, he can pick some one from her camp like Wesley Clark and do just as well.

I think he does better without her, and with Clark.

The onus will be on Hillary...how she exists and campaigns will be the key issue..but here as VP..I don't think it is necessary, feasible or smart.

Just my opinion of course.

Hillary on the ticket will be detrimental in the GE. You seem to be suffering from the delusion that hillary feels she owes something to her supporters. Hillaryu cares about thing and one thing only, that is hillary. That being said, I am voting for Obama in the GE.

15. Actually, yes, I do think you're wrong....
I think Clinton on the ticket will cost Obama far more votes than he would ever win. One of the reasons he is such a viable candidate is that he crosses over all kinds of party and idealogical lines to appeal to folks who have never even thought of voting Dem before, and many who have never even thought of voting period! Hillary is such an incredibly divisive figure, especially in certain circles that just her name one the ticket will cause all kinds of folks who haven't seen the light of day for years to drag themselves out from underneath their rocks and vote against her. And there are plenty of others who will be only too happy to whip up the hatred and spur them on, get them registered, drive them to the polls.

He needs someone uber stable... someone like Clark, or Biden. Biden is my guy:loveya: but personally I'd rather see him as Sec of State then VP. Anyhoo... just my opinion, but I think Obama would be making a huge mistake to give her the VP slot. I'd be very disappointed, but of course I'd happily vote for the ticket anyway!

When Election Day comes, Obama will get the female and union votes, that traditionally go Democratic.

He needs a smart, persuasive Flag Officer on the ticket.

22. There's no way on earth she should be the VP
His whole campaign is based on the premise of fundamental change. Let's the Clintons into the White House and his whole narrative is undermined. The GE wouldn't even be about Obama if he put her on the ticket; the Pubs would make it into a referendum on Billary.

A total waste of time, not that it will prevent the MSM from obsessing about it.

25. A little reality check
1) No way Clinton's ego will let her be #2. She's already done that routine married to Bill.

2) She would be a drag on the ticket and would completely offset Obama's good numbers against McCainn in Red states.

3) Obama needs some who will have his back, not someone looking to plant a shiv in it.

The Clintons never give up - if they can't have the White House back in 2008, they'll shoot for 2012, which requires Obama losing to McCain.

28. She cannot be on the ticket
She represents the politics of the old, something that Obama has made a case that he does not embrace. Having her on the ticket would completely negate his message of change and getting past the old politics. Didn't you hear his speech last night?

I'd lose respect for him if he picked her - I feel confident that he has better judgement than that.

34. VP slots are for balancing the ticket
I'm guessing that Obama needs someone who is white, who will appeal to the voters who are leery about voting for a black or a woman, who has military experience.

Also, Hillary and Bill are into political maneuvering to advance their own agenda. We saw this with the threat of the nuclear option, the negative anonymous mailings, the illegal robocalls, and Bill playing the race card.

Obama will have a tough enough job without having to worry what the Mayberry Machiavellis are up to trying to undercut him in the VPs office.

The entire first half of the primary season she repeated over and over and over that Obama does not have the experience to be President, that he is unprepared for the 3 am calls, etc. How could she possibly take that back now and be his running mate even if we put all other issues aside?

not enough executive experience. Kathleen Sebelius is a much better choice and will cover those perceived weaknesses.

By the way, hate to break it to you, but she's only staying in to repay her $11.4 million campaign loan. That's right, a loan. Not enough faith in her campaign to even donate the money to it.

And, frankly, if old people in rural areas want to vote for McCain I wish them well. With McCain they are throwing away single payer health care. If they really think that is a good idea then good for them.

Hillary needs to go back to the senate where she belongs.
