Perspective in Indiana - John McCain got only 77% of the vote
77% against other candidates whose campaigns have been suspended or ended, with the exception of Ron Paul, who as far as I know didn't even campaign here.
When the nomination is a done deal for one candidate, then voters feel free to cast their ballots for their original choice.
If the Dem race were over and done, you would have a seen an awful lot of votes for Edwards or Kucinich. People do it just to make a point or to honor their original candidate.
