Pat Buchanan asked the big question: Why would Hillary continue to bash the presumptive nominee?
Hillary cannot win the nomination through the election process. So, why would she continue? We have the Democratic candidate. Her continuing to pound away on him will only extend the damage and shorten the critical time needed to heal wounds and unify the party.

The time has come, Senator Clinton. The time is now.

1. Ya know what? Fuck! Pat Buchanan. I'm not interested in anything
he has to say. Give me a more unbiased source, I just might listen. He makes me hurl. :puke:

4. I agree, he's a despicable person - but it's still a good question
Why would Hillary continue to take potshots at the presumptive nominee?

5. Pat Buchanan is a steaming pile of horse manure ... who has pulled for Hillary from day one.
The question is relevant, even if the source is repulsive.

16. I understand your point, sister. I guess I'm hold him up in the same way wingnuts will quote the NYT
"If the NY Times is criticizing a Democrat, then the criticism carries more weight."

I'm not trying to convince you that Buchanan is anything but scum.

6. Agree on Pat Buchanan,
but it's a simple question, really. Doesn't matter who asks it. Why would Clinton stay in just to weaken the inevitable nominee?

11. The point here is...
if even someone waaaay out there on the right is asking why she keeps fighting, then it's pretty obvious that she should stop; considering that she's the one the Right wants to see as the Dem nominee because they believe they can beat her.

she stays in her swiftboat antics better stop.

7. Hillary can maintain her candidacy without bashing Obama.
Most of Hillary's ads so far have been positive.

I hope Hillary can find a way to maintain her candidacy so that voters in the remaining 6 contests are offered a choice.

Howard Dean has always said that the voting should be allowed to continue through June 3rd.

After June 3rd he will ask the remaining "unpledged delegates" to choose their candidate.

We can be confident that the race will be all wrapped up by June 10th at the latest.

20. as a voter in one of those remaining 6 contests, NO THANKS!
My choice has been outta the running a LONG time. Hillary is NOT a choice, she is an embarassment and a huge liability, with the emphasis on lie. 6.4 million lent to her campaign last month? And she waved her fund raising last month like a banner? LIE and liability.

Life long GOP here in a deep red county where I live USED to want Hillary as the DEM nominee just so they would get the fun of voting against her in November. Now, most of them just want the nation to change course and they know Obama is the only hope of that happening.

22. Lies and Liability. Wasn't that a Jane Austen book?
Made into a movie with Emma Thompson playing the lead, right? Maybe not. I don't read much.

9. I have conceded that Obama is the probable nominee
She still has the right to go out with good wins. She's going to blow him out in WV and KY. She shouldn't be denied that, half of the country has voted for her. Let her quit after Puerto Rico when she has won a good margin so at least she can drop out before a huge defeat in Western states. She has earned that bit of dignity.

13. Dignity?
Stumping from the bed of a pickup truck?
Pounding back shots of whiskey with beer chasers?

Not my concept of dignity.

19. that's a bit of a haughty statement
Obama actually needs to do a bit more of that. The one problem with his campaign that I see that is just glaring is that he is too damn cerebral. Clinton realized this, exploited it. It wouldn't hurt Obama to campaign in a pickup truck, even if it offends cocktail society in certain parts of the country. I get the feeling that Jim Webb probably utilized pick ups in his campaign.

21. I phrased it badly. Let me try again.
I would not deny Clinton some level of dignity in this contest. I truly hope that if she continues to campaign that she injects dignity into all of her actions.

27. Right
What we need is a beer swillin' redneck who has zero intellectual curiosity.... wait maybe we can have * for a third term.

The last thing we need in this country is another person like *. I am happy the president will be smarter than most americans, if not, we are in deep doo doo.

I mean the dumbf***s that say that to me; I feel like asking if they would like a surgeon as smart as they are? Smarter? Well why in the h3ll would you want the leader of the free world to be as dumb as you?

I'll not stand in judgment of her sins, and I doubt Buchanan will either. But how about doing something for the good of the Party?

12. 2012
Pat knows better than that

I was amazed at how unfamiliar Mathews and Russert and most of the MSNBC panel was with politics and the DC political system last night. :eyes: They appeared to be babes in the woods.

14. 2012. It's all about 2012 for her.
I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't end up leaking opposition research to help McCain. I believe she is that conniving. Remember, these are the people who had Dean removed so it would clear the way for 2008 for her.

Is that what you mean by having Dean removed?
