50. not true
Corvallis, Ashland, Portland, and the Coast are all excellent places.

I'll even throw Eugene into the mix, though it pains this beaver's heart to do so.

4. No it isn't
I see big old Obama signs in all kinds of nooks and crannies. You need to get out more. This state has shifted way to the left in the last 5 years.

and I haven't met one Hillary supporter...McCain, on the other hand, is a different story. But, there are lots of Obama supporters over here!!

10. This should help calm your worst fears. Rasmussen's first Oregon poll.
Saturday, May 03, 2008

The first Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the Oregon Democratic Presidential Primary
shows Barack Obama enjoying a twelve-point lead over Hillary Clinton.

It’s Obama 51%, Clinton 39%.

30. John Birch Society
Started back in the 50's in response to the UN and FDR commies taking over the govenment. They were generally nothing but the butt of jokes. But some of the same money that backed them turned to more respectable organizations, like the Heritage Foundation and Project for a New American Century. Cuz I guess the Birchers weren't nutty enough. You can google them up. I often wish the blogs would connect them all together, because older people would finally get what's happened. Although the Birchers opposed the war, they're a little more along the lines of Ron Paul.

I'm going to get the room and if he doesn't come here, then we'll just use that time to go to the Gorge, which I've been wanting to do anyway. I was thinking he might want some big celebration in Chicago or something, those people deserve it too. We'll see. But you have given me something to look forward to for the next couple weeks.

8. I've always been a happy camper living in Oregon, but never quite this happy.
It's like a half remembered dream coming true, the way this is shaping up to have Oregon be the likely
state to put Obama over the top. Fuck ya, this is the Bush Crime Family's "Little Beirut" baby,
bring it on!

It may almost make me glad it's dragged out this long, almost but not quite.

Funny, because with Oregon being so late in the game, we kinda assumed we'd just be an irrelevant footnote.

What a shame people like you will be blamed for Obama's loss in Novemeber .. all because your little mind is incapable of doing what's best for the party.

24. She can't do that till Puerto Rico looks better.
Once she endorses him it will take time for the effects to settle in. And that still leaves Puerto Rico at risk of going to Clinton even tho she exited.

He needs to close it to within 7-10 points.

39. "Obama plans to declare victory on May 20"
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0508/10184.html

"Obama will not reach the 2,025 magic number on May 20. Rather, on that date he is all but certain to hit a different threshold—1,627 pledged delegates, which would constitute a winning majority among the 3,253 total pledged delegates if Florida and Michigan are not included.

“On May 20 we’re going to declare victory,” said an Obama senior advisor who asked that his name be withheld to speak candidly, adding that after those contests they will be “the ones with the most pledged delegates and the most popular votes.”

There are some people, even in liberal Portland, who still feel more comfortable with Hillary, even if they're reluctant to say so.

I know. I tried to talk two of them out of it this evening.

My guess is Obama by 9.
