Tucker Carlson: "I'm not saying this for Machiavellian reasons,
I'm saying it because I sincerely believe it to be true."

Bwhahaha.

It doesn't even matter to what he was referring, he is such a liar that even when he says that he's REALLY REALLY REALLY telling the truth this time, you know he's lying.

For those who care, he was stating that he truly believed that Hillary was the the more electable candidate. whether that's true or not is irrelevant for the purposes of this post, so don't jump down my throat, please. I thank you in advance.

1. My only concern with Senator Obama
Is that the "anti-black" vote, which based on Harold Ford's run for the Senate I estimate at 5% or more, might beat us.

That would be extremely hard to overcome in States such as here in Florida. There just isn't that many swing votes out there to convert.

4. The anti-black vote is almost entirely republican.
These are not voters who were on our side to begin with.

9. We Have Redneck, Pecker Head, Knuckle Dragging, Troglodytes in Our Midst as Well
Edited on Thu May-08-08 06:55 AM by mikekohr
I'm from a downstate Rural area. They are here. I suspect they are in the metro areas as well.

We will lose 5% or so because of the race issue. On the flip side Senator Obama will peal off up to 7% of the Republican demographic. He, more importantly, is generating MASSIVE interest and support among independents (the largest demographic), and has attracted the support AND involvement of millions of new and first time voters (our future).

Incidentally, Tucker Carlson is a douche bag and a right-wing troll, masquerading as a journalist, ala Limbaugh, O'Reilly, and Hannity. Douche bags, one and all.

5. We can't run away from racial progress forever
and the time is now to address it. Everybody knows that the Democrats are going to win in November anyway. McCain has yet to realize how much damage Bush has done to the Republican Party, and McCain will have a hard walk bringing in independents while appeasing his conservative base.

7. So let's not run the black guy just in case?
Let's not hire the black employee, just in case some of our customers don't like black people?

Let's not sell our house to the black family, just in case some of our neighbors don't like black people?

Let's not retain the black lawyer, just in case some of the judges don't like black people?

Let's not invite my black friend to the party, just in case some of my friends don't like black people?

Racism-by-proxy should not be a Democratic Party ideal.

8. One the other hand...
...running a candidate just because he IS black is just as bad.

Face it, Obama is not as qualified as Hillary or some of the other dropped out candidates.

This has turned into a popularity contest.

10. I'll agree, he is not as qualified as some who have dropped out
He is as qualified, if not more qualified, than hillary. She doesn't get credit for Bill's administration. Hell, she didn't have national security clearance.

13. Question - would anti-black morf to anti-woman if the mood should strike them?
This is actually a serious question. Do you think the same things that lead a person to vote against the "black" candidate, would lead them to vote against the "female" candidate?

17. Not likely..

Edited on Thu May-08-08 02:23 AM by SoCalDem
Obama's map will probably look more like this
Landrieu's not as weak as I expected, so maybe we get LA..and Ron Paul & Huckabee BOTH beat Mccain in Alaska & they are pretty bummed out over their republican scandals

You could even remove PA from Obama's column & still end up with 282... remove NM too, and the little bit of NE and he still has 276

and with Barr in the race now, we could even get GEORGIA :)

I don't know why MSNBC would think his opinions matter to anyone.

17. I read a poll that said eight percent won't vote for a woman
Edited on Thu May-08-08 01:23 PM by PlanetBev
During the 2000 campaign, six percent said they wouldn't vote of a Jew. There were churches in the South telling people that Lieberman was the anti-Christ.

There's not a Goddamned thing you can do with these people. You have to push ahead and step over them, regardless.
