ELROD at The Moderate Voice says it was "an appalling gaffe that goes well beyond (Barack Obama's) Bittergate comment." The Jed Report writes that "Clinton is making these comments to get attention. Her campaign is broke and she needs free media. She knows that the press loves to cover conflict, especially this kind of conflict. She's serving up raw meat on a platter, consequences be damned." My husband, who is not a US citizen (so he is watching this from the sidelines), thinks the Clintons are the caricature of a washed-up Vegas show. You know, responses like these are what makes me proud to be a Democrat. I have always appreciated the Democratic tendency to compassion, forgiveness and caring. Bill Clinton was one of the best presidents we ever had and his wife was a woman to be admired. After this primary season, I think I am leaving the Democratic Party, Populism looks good to me and I think Lou Dobbs would be a great. I have a very bad taste in my mouth for Obama after reading the hate filled shit that is prevalent on this site. I have listened to the "Messiah" and I have yet to hear him offer any specifics as to how he will bring about change.

I suspect that if he does get elected, his administration will be a disaster and will taint the Democratic Party for 20 years. Of course, I cannot vote for McCain, so I will vote for the Green or Populist candidate and hope for the best. If the comments I have heard on this forum is typical of Obama supporters, I don't see how we can recapture social and economic justice for the downtrodden.
