In fact, they make the second wrong pretty disgusting, imho.

Hate is hate. It should never be condoned. ESPECIALLY when you are using a broad brush to hate an entire population here on DU... bad news.

that thinking there would have been no racial progress in this country. Sometimes there are not two sides to the argument. Hating hatred is not bad.

51. Hating hatred, or haging bigotry is one thing...
And it is completely different from hating people, or broad brush bashing an entire group of people. Saying that all Clinton supporters are worthy of hate, or that they are disgusting is just plain wrong.

Hate the sin, love the sinner.

It's time to rise above, or we are no better than that which we profess to abhor.

Hating back is tragic. And hating ALL of Clinton's supporters because of a few is idiotic at best.

21. hating is part of the human condition
And I don't see it as that as much as distaste in someone's actions. We used to be able to criticize a politicians views and actions on this board without reasonable fear of our thoughts being censored. Ah well, as goes the country, so goes DU I suppose.

I still just know if Dennis had been given some media time we wouldn't be in this mess.

33. The OP grouped all Clinton supporters together
That is my gripe... the OP called ALL Clinton supporters hateful things.

I feel the same way about Edwards... the RW media chose our current candidates, no question. I have it on good authority that there is a horrific O-bomb-a coming as an October Surprise... I hope my source is wrong, but he hasn't been yet. I think we've been led down the garden path, with this outcome held for October, to boost votes for McCain... same old shit, different election.

I hope I'm wrong. With all my heart.

Mark my words anyway...

30. Hate is a perfectly natural human emotion.
And should be embraced.

"And hating ALL of Clinton's supporters because of a few is idiotic at best."

The racism is coming out of Clinton from herself, from the top of her campaign. And it's reflected in her base, over at places like "Hillaryis44."

If Clinton weren't going to drop or get forced out soon, I supposed the SPLC would have to get involved.

36. I would hate to be held accountable for what any candidate I support does or does not do..
There are plenty of natural human emotions that should not be voiced in public. The ability to hold back hatred comes with maturity... my oldest child learned that at age five. Anyone who posts on DU should be beyond that stage.

Embracing hate is never a good idea.

Bash Clinton all you like, but broad brush hating of her supporters here is horribly wrong. As I said, not all Obama supporters are arrogant assholes, but boy howdy, there are some!

I'd have no objection if the OP changed their tune and directed this hate toward Clinton.

29. White woman supporting Obama here too - and I hope that is the last
time I have to write that. I have an exercise for y'all. Turn the volume up on your tv or computer and listen to a speech by Hillary, and then one by Barack (you should find plenty on youtube to choose from). Imagine that the speaker is black or white or purple or whatever color you like best, but focus on the words. Listen to the message. I bet you'll find things you agree or disagree with no matter who you're listening to. I really wish we could get past the racial stereotypes. The important thing is that neither of them is Bush or Cheney.

As for the Clintons and their race-baiting, it didn't work. She's not going to be the nominee. And hopefully they have both learned a lesson in the process.

Onward!

25. Obama is white, as well as black. He was clearly explaining why he didn't
consider his little white Grandma a racist for admitting being a little afraid of black men--he was saying her reaction was normal for her generation, and didn't hold it against her. He wasn't CAMPAIGNING on racial divisions, for fuck's sake.

So I guess he'd refer to the other half of the family as 'typical' black folks? Clearly, typical was not the best word to use. But we're not constantly parsing Obama's words her, are we? Just Hillary's.

35. Interesting re the panhandle area -
I'm in Brazoria south of Houston. At caucus we had 1/4 of the gym with primarily white people for Hillary; and 3/4 with blacks, whites, asians etc.. for Barack - both well-dressed and the comfortably messy kinds (I'm in northern brazoria obviously). The thing that struck me (and it hit me when I attended precinct training in downtown Houston) was that there was so much diversity. In that first diversity training I sat with a young black woman on one side, and older (50ish) Indian gentleman on the other side. I am 40's white latte liberal, to use Hillary's sterotypical term. Barack can really appeal across the board, and I'm not sure that Hillary can. And that is why he is our nominee! :)

(i am a calif stuck here) my hubby the repug was the most put together person there. lol

i have for a long time seen that the republican males in my community could vote for obama, and could not vote for hillary. obama will easily get hte older male, sucess white always voted repug in this area that is disgusted and embarrassed by bush and really does not like mccain.

none of the manly man, testostrone driven, hummer driving repug is going ot vote either for a woman or a black.... but then they would never vote a demcrat anyway cause that might challenge their manliness and make them a girlie man. lol
