AP: Hillary is a 'deluded also-ran'
http://www.recordonline.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20080508/NEWS/80508007">Clinton stays in race

Nonetheless, Tuesday's results drastically reshaped the dynamic of the campaign, positioning Obama as the all-but-certain nominee and casting Clinton as a dogged but deluded also-ran. At least one prominent Democrat, Clinton supporter and former South Dakota Sen. George McGovern, called on Clinton to quit the race. Others held back, allowing her to assess the landscape and draw her own conclusion about how to proceed.

But at a news conference in West Virginia, the former first lady showed no sign of going anywhere. ``I'm staying in this race until there's a nominee,'' she declared.

OUCH!

:hurts:

14. You got to figure they will try to get out in front of it.
After all they were her biggest cheerleaders for quite awhile. Now that the gambit is starting to fail they attempt to change places to try to be free loading front runners they always were. It's more a face save than a strategy

8. ugh, there's an ugly thought
I don't think any spinmeisters could pull off that mass delusion. The reality would be too frightening. "Mommy, who's that little blonde man with a mullet?!"

5. As an Obama supporter, I find that kind of harsh
She was a fierce competitor and she ran a hard campaign. To deny her the historical significance of her campaign would be a disservice. Let's let her bow out with respect. If she chooses to run scorched earth in her last weeks, the only effect it will serve is to diminish the incredible accomplishment she has made. I hope she won't. Time will tell.

A continued primary is endangering the financing of Congressional campaigns

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=5886630&mesg_id=5886630

We had a good 1st Quarter anyway, but I don't think we can continue to reach our fundraising targets unless this thing gets settled, and quickly. For her to wait until June is a nightmare that may well guarantee that not only my guy, but dozens and dozens of other challengers will come up badly short of their goals for the 2nd Quarter. And my candidate is in the very top level of targeted races. I can only imagine what the lower tiers of challengers are facing (well, no, actually I've heard from some of them, including the finance chair for a candidate in the Midwest to whom I spoke today).

We need her to drop out now, not only for the sake of our real Presidential nominee winning in November, but so that the rest of us can finally have a fighting chance with donors.

Let's hope she figures it out soon! It's sad that so many others have already written her off. She's becoming a HUGE JOKE! Is she stupid? Or, at some point is going to start to care about her legacy?

then I wouldn't care if she ran until the cows come home.

But, it's the lies hilary won't stop telling that is messing her up.

I imagine no one on DU is falling for this unless they want to , but I am so tired of no one in the m$m correcting these points.
Edit to add: And thanks, Sandi_4_Edwards, please add your own.

1) "Clinton was the underdog in Indiana"
She said this again this a.m., when it's not true.

http://politicalmaps.org/indiana-primary-maps-may-6-200... /

Indiana’s primary on May 6th is a pivotal primary providing Hillary Clinton a final chance to derail Barack Obama’s path to the nomination and offering Barack Obama an opportunity to clinch the nomination. If Obama beats Clinton in both Indiana and North Carolina on May 6th, then Clinton will be left without a reason to stay in the race. Clinton is favored to win Indiana as the demographics resemble Ohio and Pennsylvania, however Indiana is expected to be more competitive.

2) "Clinton won Texas"
No she didn't, and everyone needs to stop saying that!

Delegate update: Obama wins TX
Posted: Tuesday, April 01, 2008 10:12 AM by Domenico Montanaro

From NBC's Domenico Montanaro
NBC News has allocated the remaining nine Texas caucus delegates, 7-2, in favor of Obama. That means the Illinois senator has won the most delegates, 99-94, as a result of both the Texas primary and caucuses.

Obama now leads by 129 in the overall delegate count, 1637-1508. Obama leads by 162 pledged delegates, 1415-1253. (There remains just one delegate unallocated from Democrats Abroad.) Clinton leads among superdelegates, 255-222, per the NBC News Political Unit count.

Also note, the Obama campaign has passed around that it has picked up two delegates in Mississippi, showing Obama with a 20-13 lead. NBC News' count remains 19-14 for Obama so far.

And 3) "Clinton has more popular votes"
Again, NO! The difference is even greater since Tuesday, so don't buy into this.

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/05/07/politics/main...
Clinton's Path To Victory Slipping Away

snip//

Clinton’s arguments that she can still win have largely evaporated after last night. In the popular vote, Barack Obama added more than 230,000 to his overall total in North Carolina, compared to the 20,000 Clinton won in Indiana. Even if Clinton and Obama were allocated votes from the disputed contests in Florida and Michigan last January, Clinton could still find herself trailing in the popular vote lead.
