Toni Morrison: Its not GENDER, its not RACE, its WISDOM!!
Edited on Thu May-08-08 05:13 PM by livingmadness
From Huffington Post:

Do you regret referring to Bill Clinton as the first black President? --Justin Dews, Cambridge, Mass.

People misunderstood that phrase. I was deploring the way in which President Clinton was being treated, vis-à-vis the sex scandal that was surrounding him. I said he was being treated like a black on the street, already guilty, already a perp. I have no idea what his real instincts are, in terms of race.

Why did you endorse Barack Obama for the presidency? --Chris Francis Lightbourne, Long Island, N.Y.

I thought about voting for Hillary at the beginning. I don't care that she is a woman. I need more than that. Neither his race, his gender, her race or her gender was enough. I needed something else, and the something else was his wisdom.

I couldn't agree more.

9. Are you serious or are you just
trolling for someone to say something about Hillary's shortcomings, so you can whine that people say mean things about her.

Edited on Thu May-08-08 06:32 PM by Beacool
Please pass that on to your buddy, I have no one on ignore. Obama hammered Hillary for months how he had better judgment because he opposed the war from the beginning. Well, I don't think his judgment is any better considering the people he surrounds himself with even though he's now throwing them under the bus.

19. Sweetheart, it's over. Hillary Lost.
I hope we may still see a woman president in our lifetimes. Fortunately, her last name will not be Clinton...

If you persist in thinking Obama is the enemy then I urge you to ponder a Supreme Court under McCain.

Now this thread is about Tony Morrison. Talk about her.

But Obama is not guaranteed to become our president either. As for Ms. Morrison, she's great.

22. and by the first and second lines points you made, I ask:
What purpose does it serve to bring up the Rezko, Wright bullshit?

Concentrate on getting a Democrat in the White House. Failure is not an option.

26. Sorry buddy, not all of us can sit at the computer for hours.
Why bring up Wright and Rezko? Because they show his poor judgment and how he's just another Southside Chicago politician and not the Messiah he had been portrayed for months by his adoring fans and the complicit media. If these things had come out before Feb. 5th Obama would not be where he is today.

24. There is no "kewl kids klub"
People get ignored for various reasons - my list includes, (but your mileage may vary)

In no particular order, (but not just the one thing, everyone gets leeway - yeah, that's elitist, but so what? I'm probably on some posters ignore list too)

Really stupid comments (unless you're in the Lounge)

Sexist comments

Racist comments

No profile or minimal profile

Low post count

Yeah, I'm a fucking elitist. But I"m too old to listen to bullshit - I heard plenty when Nixon was president. I don't have to now read the opinion of any idiot who can pound a keyboard.

You don't like that?

In the immortal words of Lonnie Donegan "Fuck off then."
