I was always a fan of Kerry's but questioned whether he was the right candidate (as I did about the other candidates as well).
But everything about the campaign he's been running and the speech he gave last night made me believe that not only does he have a very good chance at beating Bush but if and when he does, that he will be a great president.
Starting from the way he handled the rumor of an affair early on and didn't flail around trying to innoculate it or give any ammunition, to his front porch speeches, to picking Edwards as his VP, to defending his wife when she spoke her mind, and finally to the convention and the people who spoke and how they spoke of him, and most importantly the speech he gave last night.
I'll admit I was worried that he would be ponderous or not strike the right balance of populism and strength. He sent a message. He is liberal, he are caring, but he is also strong. He hit Bush directly but not by name.
I'm stoked. I'm very stoked.
