Clinton and Obama supporters, let's reconcile.
And, let's just get this right out of the way- there is nothing insincere about this post at all.

It's actually somewhat flattering when people disbelieve my emotional courage, my realness. I can see Clinton supporters clicking on this with a pre-existing notion of, hey, this guy hates me, he's just going to try to screw me over somehow. It's some kind of trick- boy, is he tricky. And he would't put himself out there like that, risk getting slammed and rejected- let's nail him.

That's not true, though. I don't hate Clinton supporters- because the only difference I've had with them is my choice of President toward getting the very same policies implemented that Clinton supporters want. And here's the kicker- by virtue of that same understanding of rightness, I have a very strong faith in my fellow Democrats that, when presented with the proper circumstances, when the vitriole is deliberately and nakedly cast aside, they will see that we are all the same and come together for the common good.

Our strength is always in our numbers, and our numbers are in our ideas.

And our ideas are not in our candidates. Neither Obama nor Clinton was so brilliant as to originate the belief that our presence in Iraq is wrong and unhealthy for our country, or that everyone should have healthcare, or that maybe those people that can afford to otherwise should be footing most of our tax bills. Those ideas started long ago with great people, but numerous people, as often happens with that which is self-evident.

In supporting one candidate or another we get emotionally invested in ways that, in the short term, do us well in that they narrow our decisions, but not in the long term. Long-term, when we merely attack on behalf of or defend our candidate we have totally forgotten why we got involved to begin with- making our country and world better places to live in.

Clinton supporters, no matter what anyone says, Obama, the Democrats, and your country are relying on you to help make sure our country benefits from just law and just policy after the 2008 General Election. Please dig down deep into your heart, remember your beliefs, your love of right, and continue- do not rejoin- the fight.

1. K & R! BullGooseLooney.
Good job! A "Unity" post with no visible/apparent anti-Hillary snark.

I'll climb on the Obama bus, but I won't drink the kool-aid.

9. unity
But in my mind, the only real unity gesture at this point will be Obama offering Hill the VP slot.

18. But you manage to work in anti-Obama snark
And you wonder why people don't like a lot of Hillary supporters. They can't support their gal without tossing in a slur or a smear.

19. STOP.
It's a common phrase, not personal to Obama supporters.

Please, please stop.

21. I'm not a dog --
I don't respond to STOP, SIT, STAY -- or any other command.

I have seen few -- almost no -- posts from Hillary supporters that don't mention -- "cult" "kool-Aid" and other demeaning words like that.

But this is the tenor of Hillary's campaign -- she lost me when she started mocking Obama and his supporters with her pathetic "The sky will open . . . " bullshit.

At that point, I knew she was a loser -- and she's done nothing since to change my assessment.

There are too many of her followers who are continuing the charade.

You held out your hand to these people and this person spit in in. Screw 'em.

22. No, she didn't
spit in my hand.

What you're getting angry at is in embedded in virtually ALL posts, in one way or another, in GD: P. This is common language, common parlance, that Clinton and Obama supporters until now have used in referring to each other.

In this case the use of "kool-aid" wasn't even an attack. All she meant was that she wouldn't FULLY be on board and LOVE Obama in the way that many do. She was making a distinction that should be recognizable.

The anger you see in other Obama supporters' posts, and in my other posts, shouldn't overshadow your understanding that we do value Clinton supporters and in many cases, like mine, even understand what you're going through.

29. BGL, this is NOT garbage! This race baiting, especially now by Lanny Davis, will cause a RACIAL
divide, the likes of what we can not imagine.

This has to stop NOW. If the SD do not act SOON, we will drive a wedge through both The Party and Race Relations.

WE ARE IN A CRISIS NOW. :nuke:

33. It really won't.
As long as Obama moves on to McCain and we all come together, this racial divide will never happen.

In fact, the race factor will only act in Obama's favor if we can stay positive. Don't fall into that trap of white vs. black.

39. its not time to unite. only after clinton concedes
this place is NOT going to get better.

it's going to get worse. trying to stop it is like trying to stop the tide. you think that while the two candidates are fully engaged at destroying each other, du will somehow "reconcile"?

hillary needs to drop out. until that happens, the internet is going to be an explosive place full of people pressuring her to do so.
