Oh for fuck's sake.
So Obama accidentally said there were 57 states.
Do you honestly think that he doesn't know how many states there are?
I mean, really?
The man may be many things, but it can't be denied that he is very smart. To suggest that his verbal gaffe means he doesn't know the number of states in this country is ridiculously insulting.
I mean, COME ON. Stop and THINK about it. Even BUSH would be able to say how many states there are in the country.
This is just another absurd fake issue, if you want to make fun of his verbal screw-up, fine, enjoy your little party. But don't say that he's stupid because of it...cause if you do, you're not showing very good things about yourself.
That is all.
Commence poo-flinging.

51. I've worked on many local campaigns since I was a High School student. Advisors are important.
Sometimes I wonder what kind of people our politicians/candidates surround themselves with and what kind of advice are they receiving. I've never been a yes man. I always take the "devels advocate position." How about you.

24. actually no, that was a total fuck up although she probably was dead tired when she said it.
I am talking about ANY TIME the lady has said anything no one liked.

Sometimes she says things that are kind of stupid but she has been working her ass off for this campaign and yeah, she gets a little dumb at times.

So if you are going to start complaining about how the media (and the opponent supporters) reacts to something stupid when you claim it is exhaustion, remember what it was like for Senator Clinton.

And then remember it has been like that for sixteen years for her.

32. Funny you should mention those 16 years.
I was a full-on Clinton supporter for almost two decades and bought into the whole us vs them theme they have buzzing around them. I refused to listen to anyone that said anything negative about them. And then I started to read here and backtrack and review. That combined with the way she has conducted her campaign has led me to the conclusion that the Clintons thrive on drama. As much as I believe every word of "The Hunting of the President", I have come to realize that they incited much of the chaos with their triangulating and hubris and sense of entitlement.

The Clintons have played every ugly card in the deck. She has run against Barack like a Republican. And failed. It's over and time for her to muster some grace for once during this race and withdraw. Every other candidate that ran pulled up their socks and did the right thing when the time came and, yes, I expect her to do the same because it's the right thing to do.

And then we can dispense with the solicitation for sympathy for her because I've got to tell you, I'm fresh out of sympathy for Hillary Clinton.

We are on the precipice of that we have waited so long for, and now we find ourselves tapping our collective foot, waiting for Hillary to muster the good goddamn sense and grace to accept her defeat and get the hell out of the way. I'm in no mood to coddle the denial coming from the Clinton camp a moment longer. There is too much at stake to kowtow to the bruised ego of her failed candidacy.

But about the Obama thing, you're absolutely right. If they're gonna rag on a little verbal miscue like that, it must mean that they really don't have anything at all. I mean, Jesus, "He fucked up and said 57 states so I'm not gonna vote for him?" That's worthy of maybe a Lewis Carroll's character.

61. Tit for tat.
He insults others for their gaffs, but can't take the heat when it blows back at him. It will get a lot worse.

66. LOL
Yes please let it get worse, making some of you look like the fools you are. "hey look at what Obama said" Did he really say that color was red when it was actually green" childish. In the meantime your candidate may have to be taken off the stage by her own daughter because she is beyond delusional. I hope that when they take the hook to pull her off she doesn't yell "charlie's in the trees"!

Grown ass people behaving like my six and four year old. Well mommy she mocked me first so I'm gonna mock her back. Well sine I got in trouble and mommy told me to got to my room I'm going to be a brat and tell her your every move. Fucking priceless, yet we are suppose to give you folks the benefit of the doubt because you are hurt? No I think we are suppose to treat you with kid gloves like we do children because that is how some of you behave.

62. It's all they got.... Obama bashers that is.
They have been trying to make so much out of so little for so long that they can practically make anything out of nothing.

I just LOL.

65. For those upthread trying to equate this gaffe to Clinton's sniper fire. You're comparing apples
to oranges. If Obama had spoke of his harrowing experiences on the campaign trail, while traveling through Atlantis, you'd be on to something. But this? Not so much.

67. They are beyond pathetic
and at this point in time they are obsolete. Remember finger gate? Like one poster said it is called desperation, mix that in with childish pouting and what do you have? I bet you some of them will be bringing this shit up in November when we have a president Obama in the meantime Hillary will be fighting tooth and nail for her Senate seat. I don't expect much from folks who would excuse racism and lies from their precious candidate. What else do they have at this point? There is no way in hell their candidate is going to win this thing; she is not going to VP and when she finally does leave the stage she will be the laughing stock of the Dem party along with shame for the way she has handled herself during these last few weeks. Hell I think the shame has already started as the super D's don't want much to do with her lying ass. Let the children have this one like they had finger gate because we haven't seen nothing yet. Come next week when it finally sets in I'm sure they will act a fool on DU in which the ignore function should become every Obama supporters friend.

80. The reason why this is news
Is that the Obama campaign and his supporters, including Keith Olbermann, love to call McCain on his gaffes and attribute them to his age. But Obama has proven to be clueless as well, even though he's only 46.

81. I know. Obama isn't a very intelligent speaker, compared to McCain.
McCain would beat Obama in a debate with his hands tied.

When so many of his supporters think 1200 delegates = 2025?
