What is wrong with Carville?
Watching Crossfire and he allowed a DEM congressman to agree with Tucker that Kerry is trailing in the polls! Most polls have Kerry ahead. Only a couple show him behind and no one challenged the "no bounce"?

1. I think the no bounce works to our advantage
Carville isnt stupid, I suspect he wants that impression.

If we continue to remain locked in a dead heat, who will mobilize best, us or them? Id have to say we will bring more voters to the polls and Id say the swing voters will see everything they need to see in the coming months.

3. I agree
Let the media keep saying that and giving Repukes a false sense of security.

6. They don't have a false sense of security. They are
the ones pretending we don't have a bounce! Duh! I don't agree that is what Carville is doing. He would know enough to build momentum. Everybody loves a winner and we don't have much time to make our case. I still wonder what is going on!

9. More or less. He "agreed" he was behind.
Then he mumbled something about the lead expecting to go back and forth and the race would be "close" blah, blah, blah!

17. He is the ranking Democrat on the Homeland Security Committee
Jim Turner is a moderate to conservative Democrat from East Texas. He is retiring because his seat was kind of destroyed due to DeLay's re-redistricting. It is rumored that Turner may run for Governor or Senator in 2006, whichever one Kay Hutchison doesn't run for, most likely.

12. Actually it looks like it's still a dead heat
With Kerry only up by a few points, and well within the statistical margin of error.

I don't expect a whole lot of post-convention "bounce" this year for any candidate. The electorage is extremely polarized, with a very small "undecided" bloc.

To truly win big, we need to get to the disaffected voters, and those who don't think their vote makes a difference. Because this year, it DOES.

We need to hit on why Kerry is better than Shrub for them (obvious to us, yes, but not to many others). Talk about the economy, ending the wars quicker and spending the $$ on our veterans instead of on more weapons, accessibility to healthcare for everyone, etc.

The Dems have NEVER done well on so-called "national security" issues. However, we do VERY well on the bread-and-butter issues. Kerry needs to hammer them, HARD, to get some of those disaffected voters on board: protecting American jobs, making our trade treaties fairer, increasing the minimum wage.

Given the complete ineptitude of Shrub, Kerry should be able to kick has ass all the way to Crawford. This race is truly Kerry's to lose. Expect to see him pulling no punches by early September, and getting the knockout Nov 2.

13. He's up 3-8 points without Nader and 4-7 points with Nader
in every poll except Gallup. It's not a big lead, obviously, but those huge crowds are a great sign.

18. The Gallup poll is also CNN's poll
That is why they are focusing on it so much. I haven't really watched the other networks so I don't know what they are saying, but CNN is just doing it because they love their own polls.

And if they didn't he still doesn't have to mention the other polls by name . He should just mention that there are other polls.

26. Ridiculous?
That's a bit harsh and judgemental. isn't it?

I no longer watch CNN. I have, in the past, watched it at great length and one thing that always bothered me was whe it turned to political discussion, even on Inside fucking Politics, they pretended that no polls outside of CNN's existed. It torqued me off to no end.

And now, my observation is ridiculous?

:wtf:

20. It's a CNN poll
Only Fox will hype other polls (if they benefit Reps) over their own.
Carville is probably contractually obligated to hype the CNN poll.

21. No....
but a man of honor wouldn't sell Chevys if he thought Chevys suck
and a man of honor who prides himself as a staunch Democrat wouldn't let himself be clobbered with a poll that makes Kerry look like a loser when there are five polls that contradict it...

In the final analysis all we have is our honor....

It's always about the honor.....

peace,
