The Only Way that McSame & Co. Can Beat Obama in the GE is by Stealing It
Edited on Sun May-11-08 02:07 PM by Emit
Seriously, McCain is destined to lose. New Voter registration nationwide exceeded 3.5 million, with the majority of new voters registering as Democrats. Democratic voter registration has hit historical numbers. Democratic voter turnout in the primaries has been record-setting, with Republican voter registration and turnout reflecting dismal numbers.

Obama's volunteer base for the GE is estimated to be at least one million, and yesterday, he launched a new voter registration drive in preparation for the GE. Obama's grass-roots organizing and Dean's 50-State Strategy gives Democrats an edge over the status quo. McCain doesn't even enjoy favorable ratings within his own party -- not a single Repug talking head wanted him and fought hard to beat him. Odds are against him. The only way he can win is to steal it.

Massive Democratic Voter Registration and GOTV efforts will flood the polls in November, and will prove to be the winning solution. Voter registrars offices nation-wide better brace themselves come election time. We will be reading stories about the record-high turnout. Mark my words. What you and I can do now is volunteer -- volunteer with the Democratic Party, volunteer for the Obama campaign in your state, volunteer for your registrars office to be an Election Poll worker in your city, volunteer to register new Democrats, volunteer for GOTV, volunteer to give voters rides to the polls in November, volunteer to phone bank and canvass your neighborhood, donate $ if you can afford it -- if not, donate your time, and, lastly and most importantly, vote Democratic in the GE ~ Vote for Obama.

1. Don't underestimate McCain.
He is a much stronger candidate the Bush was. He has much wider appeal then Bush did.

5. I do not believe McCain is a much stronger candidate than Bush was

He lost a lot of credibility by sucking up to and siding with Bush, pandering to the religious right, etc. He is not hugely favored within his own party -- they view him as a traitor and too liberal, and many Repugs don't like his stance on immigration.

Many Republicans I know are not fond of the way McCain sold out to Bush. They lost a lot of respect for the man. Now, McCain is tied to Bush and Bush's favorability ratings are in the trash -- most of the electorate are done with Bush & Co. The Republicans know this and that is why they are sweating it.

Let's get real. The Republican machine is who we have to beat. I'm not saying that it will be a cakewalk. To do that, we need our own movement, and that movement has been in the making for years now. It is our time. But it takes participation from the grass roots level.

edit left out a word

4. Yes, they do.
I have read that a huge Democratic Voter turn out will make it much harder for them to steal the election.

7. The only way they can win is through personal attacks
patriotism. It is impossible for them to win on issues so I expect them to try everything to bring Obama down. He must quickly and strongly refute these claims and call them out for taking the focus off the issues that matter. We can't have this type of politics that was done to Kerry defeat us again, this is the reason we're in such a mess right now.

8. I think Obama has already proven that he can respond
more readily, and more effectively, than Kerry could, IMHO.
