The ideal Dem presidential candidate
--would be running on the Kucinich platform, and like Dennis would be right about damned near everything at least a few years in advance.
--would be a fiery populist orator like Edwards, with a resume as long as Richardson's
--would have the organization skills (ground operation combined with internet) of Obama

We don't have any candidates like that, so I'm going with the organizer.

4. got that right
actually Kucinich has the fiery oratory of Edwards, if only we'd had a chance to hear it across the media void. It takes money to tolerate that kind of cross over./ Never have I seen a Kucinich rally where the audience was not in awe. / Possibly the only trait Kucinich does not have is organizational skills. / Certainly his resume as mayor of Cleveland speaks well of his commitment to the American people.

5. I'll settle for a candidate running on DKs platform.
What are the chances that Obama would do so?

About the same, perhaps, as him getting my vote in November.

Okay, I'll compromise. He doesn't have to run on the whole thing; just these points:

1. HR 676
2. No NAFTA
3. No war as an instrument of international policy

Plus these 2 points of my own:

1. No NCLB or any other form of high-stakes testing
2. No support for merit pay, charter schools, or any other form of privatization of public education.

6. That wouldn't be an ideal candidate, that would be an acceptable candidate...
I swear, the Democratic party is so conservative compared to the rest of the industrialized world's left wing parties!
