Turning tide?
I am a teacher by trade, which means I have to have a part-time job.... which is... you guessed it, waiting tables!
weeaaallllll, this Saturday morning I was waiting on these two guys who were VERY hung over.... and in need of steak and eggs. As they waited for their food and plowed through many cups of joe... they also plowed through the paper. In their conversation they began to discuss JK and JE.
Swing voters are VERY impressed by Kerry's war credentials.... so much so that these two guys (who were not going to vote before will now vote for Kerry).
I think people are impressed by a man who goes to war, does an excellent job of what is expected of him, then comes back... and from a place of knowledge... speaks out against that very war.... I have massive respect for people like him and Ron kovic.

1. Kerry's war background
might help neutralize some of the "F-You Boys" as Stan Greenberg calls these ultra macho, male, not-so-educated voters.
