Why doesn't anyone mention Bob Graham as a possible VP candidate for Obama?

He would be a perfect choice.

1. Well respected and well liked, especially in his home state, Florida. Could put FL into play.
2. Provides the experience to buffer the inexperience attacks
3. Was both a governor and senator, providing executive and legislative experience
4. Was the Chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and voted against the IWR

I'm not sure how he is on the campaign trail though. Not an overly charismatic guy, and compared to Obama the contrast might be too striking. Overall he is a solid choice, outside of my nitpicking just now. I do prefer a few others though.

it's one of the main reasons I'm against a Obama/Clinton ticket, too much star-power can obfuscate the message, and people may not know what message they're getting (although barack has been like a prodigy at getting his message out, I wonder if Hillary will suck his "magical powers" as modo contends) Graham is competent, brings experience to the ticket, and he also had the judgment to be against the war from the start and actually READ the NIE before that vote. I think he may get some consideration at least

A lot of it is hit and miss. He should get some consideration, he is an older guy though. Has had heart issues in the past. Graham also voted against the war partly because he didn't think the IWR didn't go far enough. In Woodward's book "Plan of Attack" on page 204, he said he didn't vote for the Iraw War Resolution because it was "too timid" and "too weak." 'He wanted to give the president authority to not only attack Iraq, but also "to use force against all international terrorist groups who will probably strike the United States as the regime of Saddam Hussein crumbles." Basically, Graham voted against the Iraq War, which he has criticized, not because he is as anti-war as he claims he is, but because he felt the Iraq War resolution should have allowed Bush a blank check to attack anybody who was considered a terrorist group. If Graham had his way, Bush would have been given authority to bomb Syria and Iran under the pretext of them being international terrorist groups. I think that's unacceptable.

I see his biggest obsticle for veep would be age and health. He is 72 and has had a heart artificial heart valve replacement. but his resume' is beautiful reading. also he voted against Iraq

And although I think the VP should be someone older and distingished, I think Gramham is a bit too old.
