Pledged Delegate Flips from Clinton to Obama
Oh the sweet irony...

Prince George's County Executive Jack B. Johnson, a Democratic convention delegate pledged to support Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, said yesterday that he thinks Sen. Barack Obama has "in a real sense" won the Democratic nomination and that he now plans to support Obama at the August convention.

Johnson, who endorsed Clinton nine days before Maryland's February primary, said he will urge Gov. Martin O'Malley and Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski, who co-chair Clinton's Maryland campaign, to bring all of her delegates to Obama's camp for the sake of party unity.

"I cannot in good conscience go to the convention and not support Barack," Johnson said in an interview. "She ran a great campaign, but she fell short of the line."

So the person who introduces the idea of pledged delegates switching sides now reaps what she has sowed.

3. If we think she'll stop before the convention...we don't know her
as SNL says.

She sent Chelsea to Puerto Rico and they vote in June

4. This guy needs to retract
and go back to Clinton.

HE should state that he would only flip if his entire state's Clinton delegation flipped.

6. When Obama reaches 2024, she'll drop out. Hillary Clinton
has no desire to become a national joke or a pariah in the party, of that I'm sure.

10. Too late.
You'd think she would have felt ill after seeing SNL. But nothing sinks in.

13. I got done watching Terry McAuliffe interviewed on Fox seconds ago
They specifically asked him about this, and it sounds like even if Obama hits 2024, there is no way they will drop out before the rules and bylaws committee meets at the end of this month. He thinks they'll vote to seat the delegates, which will move the # to the 2209, and then of course, there will be no reason for her to drop out. :puke: :puke:

Oh, and he made a point to thank Mr. Douchey and Faux for being among one of the only "non-biased" news sources of this election cycle. :eyes:

9. Unfortunately, they are not
From the MD Delegate selection plan

The State Chair shall convey to the presidential candidate, or that candidate’s
authorized representative(s), no later than April 21, 2008, a list of all persons who
have filed pledged to that presidential candidate. Each presidential candidate, or
his authorized representative(s), must then file with the State Chair by 5:00 p.m.
on April 26, 2008 a list of all such candidates he or she has approved, provided
that approval is given to at least three times the number of candidates for delegate
and alternate slots to be selected. Failure to respond will be deemed approval of
all delegate and alternate candidates submitted to the presidential candidate, or
the authorized representative(s), unless signified otherwise in writing to the State
Chair no later than April 26, 2008.

The candidate's right of review period has ended in Maryland. Pledged delegates from MD can change their minds at anytime now without being subject to removal. The common misconception is that they are locked in until the second ballot at the convention, but this is just the common practice as there is no rule enforcing it. Personally I feel this is a bad idea, and I hope this is the last we see of it this primary cycle.

12. "'The freedom to change your mind or change your vote does exist,' Paulson said. "
"They're not like superdelegates, but they do have this flexibility."

Looks like she was right all along.
