I Doubt Hillary Actually Wants MI's Delegates Resolved: It's Her Wedge Issue.
Edited on Tue May-13-08 05:17 AM by tekisui
At this point it is important to remember, Hillary's ONLY argument to present to Superdelegates is the one of "electability". This is why she continues to campaign and pull as many votes to add to her popular vote count, which she will likely not win in the end.

This is why she started harping on MI and FL. Not to actually seat and count them. Her game here is to try to frame Obama as against seating and counting them. If you repeat a lie often enough...... Hillary agreed to the sanctions before any votes were cast. She later started touting MI as a win. Then she started "championing" the cause. But, since then, she has declined several compromises. She declined a re-caucus. She declined a mail-in re-vote. And, most recently she declined a 69/59 split, without Superdelegates. She has done just as much, if not more to dis-enfranchise MI.

She knows that even with MI and FL resolved she still loses. So, why does she keep at it? To paint a false picture of un-electability in Obama. Once MI and FL's problem is decided, she loses that piece of her argument. It is a wedge issue. She can't let it be fixed.

The saddest part of her USING the messes in MI and FL, is that she is conceding defeat there and in other states for the GE. She is admitting that she cannot turn any states Blue that Kerry didn't win, and she wouldn't even try. She is also insulting the intelligence of the Democratic Voters in MI and FL. She is doing it all for her dying campaign.

1. Kerry didn't win MI?
Dems won MI in '92, '96, 2000, '04. I don't think McCain will take it in '08. There shouldn't be a defeat here in the GE.

:hi:

2. I agree with you.
But, HIllary's argument is that Obama CANNOT win MI, because she would have us believe he was the one who stripped MI's delegates.

4. Ok, so it's just one more thing
that she's wrong about.

But Michigan is not her home state. Not yet.

8. "Michigan is not her home state."
Not tonight! Tonight it's West Virginia! Take me home, country road...

12. A McCain/Romney ticket has a good (bad, actually) chance of carrying Michigan.
The Democratic Party (state, national, and 4-state - insiders) has fucked over the voters of this state but good ... spending NO CAMPAIGN money and ignoring the voters. The January FUBAR is a bell that cannot be unrung. Without SERIOUS and GENUINE campagning all over this state, kiss it goodbye.

3. Michigan will likely vote Obama, Florida likely vote McCain
It's not going to come down to this issue.

7. Not just wedge, but it also allows her and the media to talk about a "real" horse race.

10. And, that is all she's got.
It's becoming embarrassing. McDubya had to fire two from his campaign today because they were lobbyists working for Burma. "To improve the junta's image."

Hillary is preventing us from focusing on the enemy.

9. Why does she want the votes to count now since her only path is SDs?

11. She doesn't want the votes counted.
She wants to use the "outrage" against Obama. And she could get all the tainted votes from FL and MI and she still won't win by any measure.
