Why are so many people acting like they just found out Obama's black?

When we chose - early on - a black man and a woman as our frontrunners, you should've suspected there'd be some push-back because of race/gender. That's why they call it "breaking barriers." Yes, there's going to be a struggle, and guess what, you're signed up. It's WAAAAY too late for buyer's remorse - in fact, at this point it really hurts the Democratic cause to bring so much doubt in voters' minds. So instead of even thinking about giving the hypothetical race-based voting block any creedence whatsoever, I really hope that you hope that America's beyond this enough to break the barrier. And enough people saying we can't - not because they're racist but because they think enough people are - can become a self-fulfilling prophecy and stop forward momentum in its tracks. Conversly, enough people saying "yes, we can" (I made that up) can also gain momentum and become a self-fulfilling prophecy but in a good way for once.

So let's move forward with confidence, please. It always puzzles me how Dems can be right and still so unassured in their direction. This is a chance to break that dysfunctional pattern and win one for once without compromising with unreasonable people. We won't please everyone - ever - so quit thinking that anything or anybody that pisses someone off is somehow weak because of it. If you're not pissing people off, you're not making progress. The path to an historic presidency is laid out for us - Let's Go!
