Prediction: Gender and Class will Play a HUGE Factor in Obama's VP Selection
And not the way some of you may be thinking. If Obama doesn't chose Clinton as his running mate, there will be a STRONG push to nominate someone who can pull her voters in. Fact is, the MSM and others are already calling Clinton's expected huge win in West Virginia and Kentucky the "anti-Obama" vote. Now sure, we know the real reason WV has a problem with Obama...he's Black. Not to stereotype, they ALL don't believe that...but enough of them do.

So my prediction is this...gender and class will trump foreign policy experience in Obama's VP selection. What are the top issues Obama is facing right now? Race, gender, and class. Older women and lower-class voters aren't coming out in droves for him...and in states that Obama will direly need (Ohio, PA, etc). The only name that comes to mind is the Govenor of Kansas, Kathleen Sebelius. You will hear the "too much change" meme, but in the end...it'll be too neccesary. She's a qualified woman with strong support amoung working-class voters in Kansas and a good record with them as well. She brings more to the ticket than other names that have been thrown out, and she also brings a state I think we'll be strong in the the General Election. She'll definently be Top 3 I think...her positives are simply too strong to ignore. They talked about her briefly on Hardball and at least one of the panelists said as much. The other guy seemed against the idea of a woman VP...fuck too much change. It's time for this country to get over itself and its bigoted ideals of what's right and wrong...too much and too little. Obama will need to bring back disillusioned Clinton supporters before he can even think about John McCain. We don't need a large swath of Dems becoming swing voters for the Rethugs.

The Future of the Democratic Party of America

Vice-President Kathleen G. Sebelius

1. You don't think that might be just a little too precious?
"Look Vagina Voters! It's a woman! How can you NOT vote for me now?"

Think about it. What if Hillary won and picked as her running mate a tall, slim black man of approximately the same age as Obama. I guarantee you a lot of voters would feel insulted by that.

I want brains. I want experience. I want a long, proven Progressive record.

3. As long as both candidates are good candidates, there is nothing wrong with identity politics.
If you noticed that black people didn't start voting for Obama in a block up until he started to prove, he's very viable candidate, and his win in Iowa.

As long as you’re not voting against a black man by voting for Hillary, or voting against a female in office by voting for Obama. It's all fine.

So there is nothing wrong with "Vagina Voters", and it's not insulting.

"I want brains. I want experience. I want a long, proven Progressive record."

I think she has it. But that's my opinion. Check her out.

2. You don't select because of the issues you face now, you select on the issues you expect to face
The repukes are going to pull out the fear card. Fear of terrorists and fear of change. So Obama needs a white male (to counter the fear change) with a strong military and national security back ground. Someone like:

4. That's nothing new...they throw that out every election cycle
They're going to throw it out regardless of who Obama's chooses as his running mate. We have somewhat of a problem in this Party right now between the older generation and the younger generation. The older Generation is predominantly female and anti-Obama.

7. I understand what you are saying, but Obama has to play this smart
fear is a powerful manipulation tool. That's why TERRORists are multiplying. Sure they will try and play that card, with Clarke on the ticket, but it just won't be successful.

As for the issue you are talking about, do you really think that demographic is going to vote against their self interests (in signficant enough numbers) just for spite?

6. A Clinton supporter that has kept quiet
as far as I know when all the mud has been flying.

I'm hoping that is a plus for Clark.

I like him very much and wanted him to be for Obama in the first place.

9. I like the way you think!
Sebelius is every bit as smart as Rodham, and more classy, and yes, more experienced as well! Look at her resume once, folks, she has more relevant experience than the Democratic runner-up. This would have less to do with her gender than it would with her experience, the good things she has done as Gov., and the fact that she has accomplished what she has in a very red state.

13. Obama-Sebelius 08, I'm already ahead of you!
Sebelius is more qualified, more eloquent...and...quite frankly, is much more attractive.

Hillary + Obama may win the election, but it's made of 4 years of misery for Obama.
