I'd like to take this moment and offer an apology to any Hillary supporters I may have offended.
It's been a long campaign and an emotional one. There has been anger, tears, snark, and outright unkindness and ugliness.

And I have been right in the middle of some of that. Sometimes things get out of control even when we try to be evenhanded and fair.

I won't lie and say I like how Hillary has run her campaign and I don't expect anyone to turn around magically become an Obama fan.

When the dust settles however, we are ALL democrats and the real enemy is John McCain and his party and we must never lose sight of that fact.

It may seem odd to quote a republican, but here it is: We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion may have strained it must no break our bonds of affection. The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield, and patriot grave, to every living heart and hearthstone, all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature. - A. Lincoln.

1. This is a nice post.
I hope you have better luck than I and the others that have tried this same thing. There are some mean, mean people holding deep irrational grudges here.

3. So true! Sadly...
I was just saying, there will still be Hillary bashing here while Michelle Obama is picking out China patterns and draperies.

The Giants and the Yankees get treated with more respect.

I don't get it. What is gained from the continued hating like this?

Does it make penises and boobs magically bigger?

It makes us all look ugly as all hell... every last one of us.

but it sunk faster than I would have liked.

I join with the OP for those who missed mine.

7. It is a nice post.
I appreciate it.

I think people forget that a lot of the anti-Hillary stuff started with the Republicans in 1992. They did their job well, and created a lot of hatred against someone who I think is a good woman.

This campaign hasn't been about issues for a long time. The media loved, and played up, the battle between Hillary and Obama. As sports announcers do, they picked sides, then ran with the frontrunner.

I think that there are stil Republicans here, and elsewhere, stirring it up against her (NOT by anyone I've seen so far in this thread). I truly believe we have been carefully trained to hate HRC for 14 years now.

8. I was shocked when the smears first started, saying I was part of a "cult".
It was disgusting, and has been disgusting for months.

I am going to need some time to trust some of my fellow Democrats again. They acted like immature freepers, repeatedly.

When I told the story of my right wing brother voting for Hillary in the Wisconsin primary so he could vote against her in November, I was accused of being a liar. That was the "straw".

I have never lied on DU, and took some offense to that. The Hillary supporters ganged up on me in a freeper-esque fashion. The ball is in their court, although I wouldn't be suprised if they're "operation chaos" types like my brother is, and we'll never see them again here on DU as Hillary supporters.

It all has been quite shocking.

So I started ignoring people.

I am not ready to clear the ignore list. Maybe I never will.

I'm glad it's over, so we can move on to McSame.

10. You quite possibly have me on ignore, but I will give it a shot.l
I noted that you went on your "plonk" campaign with quite a vengeance and I would suggest that you put a lot of people on ignore that really are not bad people at all. You might want to clear your list and see the conciliation that is going on now. You will still see people on both sides who are not ready for it, but you might be pleasantly surprised at how many you may have mis-read.

Just a suggestion.

11. I just removed them all from my list, and thank you for your kind post.
I don't know why you were on my list, or what you said or did.

For the record, my disgust with being treated like crap by the vast right wing punditry is as strong as it was in 2004. The shock at seeing fellow Democrats act like that was very troubling.

Some people may not have realized how obvious their false arguments were.

Some people might not even care if an argument is legitimate or not, they would rather make a false argument that works on people who do not question anything, or are interested on truthful debate. I can't stand that.

And I hate "spin". Rember "spin alley" after the 2004 debates? It was "lie alley" and nobody cared.

My point is:

Truths about Bush still are as true today as they were in 2001. His false arguments are weaker every day.

That should be a lesson for all of us Democrats. Let's keep it real, people, and beat them with common sense and truth.
