Lieberman dumping on Dean with George Will
This is sickening. Lieberman who probably doesn't have a chance of winning is on ABC news show calling Dean all kinds of things. Go away Joe. Shut the f*ck up.

2. Shows desperation on Lieberman's part
He probably thought it would be a shoe-in, since he was VP candidate last time. He's had a rude awakening, and, like a spoiled child, is having a fit about it.

5. Lieberman pounds on Dean so much more than he
Edited on Sun Jan-04-04 10:47 AM by liberalnurse
ever, ever did on *bush ...ever...that includes the 2000 Election!
He is shameful.

We need Gore to come out and say how "dissappointed" he is in Joe's behavior.

Ha Ha Ha......

6. I just watched him for about 2 minutes.
He said Dean was trying to get rid of "middle-class" tax cuts. When did the middle class get any tax cuts of any consequence. All I've seen is barrels of money going to the top 1% and the corporations.

Go away, Joe!

7. The "marriage tax"
You are a young married couple who just bought a house (my son) You are not going to vote for someone who might take that deduction away.

17. really? for a few pieces of silver?
Someone needs the big picture explained to them. Unfunded federal mandates, states that are so cash strapped they are cutting programs, school funding among them.

They will pay much more in property tax increases than they are saving with this tax cut.

Basic economics, why is America so weak in this area?

18. False Dilemma
It is not an either-or thing, there are plenty of other alternatives. You can absolutely maintain the tax cuts on the middle-class and the poor while restoring services, you just need to be able to tax the rich even more, or cut non-service areas of the budget (e.g. defense), or trim the deficit at a less breakneck pace.

19. Welfare, that's what the mortgage deduction is!
Why should we subsidize your son's house? Or the number of children he has? Why should he subsidize my house or my children?

Amazing how many people who are quick to oppose welfare payments to the poor fail to see their own middle class welfare, such as mortgage deduction. Who do you think picks up the difference?

The real issue is that the entire tax code should be scrapped. Its complexities are due to the fact that the politicians use it to bestow benefits to their corporate contributors.

8. And lest we forget
The Raaaaaagun administration passed this deduction, along with 3 year income averaging which helped young people getting into their careers, but repealed it within 4 years because of the cost to Government revenues.

11. He is the only candidate that is hurting democratic platform...
...and needs to get out. After Gore endorsed Dean, the extreme right wing expressed pity for ole' Joe. I can't respect that which ann coulter pities. Joe whines with the right wing about Gore's lack of loyalty? He has been more loyal to bush than to the democratic party.

9. I think I'll send Lieberman a copy of the book "Jewish Values"
It's by Rabbi Jospeh Telushkin.

Lieberman said he is a man of values. One of the Jewish values discussed in this book is "Don't speak unless you have something to say."

Joe clearly does not.

I am Jewish and think Lieberman is basically a mensch (good person) but he is not presidential material. Never has been, never will be.
The man needs to face the music and dance...dance his butt off the political stage and keep his yap shut.

10. Lieberman dumps on everyone
because he knows he doesn't have a chance. Not that he's an operative for the Republican party, but whether he realizes it or not, he is sure trying to help their cause.
For chrissake Joe...finish of the tranformation and join the GOP once and for all.

13. That's true. He made some pretty nasty remarks against the General...
...just a few weeks ago. Not to mention the way he turned on Al Gore to say his populist message was the reason they lost in 2000.

Too bad he's not as critical about Bush as he is other Democrats.

12. Senator Lieberman, however has his talking points down
Forget that their fabrications, lies, and distortions: Joe is on the hunt, and in his desperation is getting pretty damn good at it.

Good to see that at least Steph and George Will aren't just rolling over, though.

15. Clark supporter here, but I despise this kind of thing.
Lieberman has zero credibility as a good solid Dem. All he does is give Dean a boost and divide the party. If Dean's our candidate we must not have given * the ammunition he needs to shoot Dean down. This goes for all the other candidates also. When Dean people bash Clark they run the same risk.

Dean hasn't proposed any middle class taxcut. All Dean has done is say he'll do the opposite of whatever Bush does.

24. I think I have Joe's problem figured out....
After all, he IS the elected Vice President of the United States. He probably assumed that would buy him at least a decent share of the primary pie. I think he, and to a slightly lesser extent Kerry and Gephardt, actually believe they have paid their dues and are "owed" the nomination by the party, and this is why the three of them resent Dean rising to the top of the pack. Well, as the Doc says, you don't beat Bush by being Bush Lite, and nobody does Bush Lite better than Joe.
