2. But it's an empty smear... like calling
edwards a trial lawyer, even if edwards did no ill. "Lobbyist" is a bad word, and tying Clark to the word is all that needs to be done, even if there is no underlying harm in the association.

14. in this case, it's not an empty smear
Clark cashed in on his national service by exploiting for personal gain the relationships he developed while in government employment. the fact that this revolving door behavior is widespread does not make it any less unethical. it creates the potential for, and the appearance of, conflicts of interest. it's a primary tool of the military-industrial complex.

i won't be voting for Lieberman, but when he's right, he's right.

16. The details I have seen about his lobbying, show a very ethical
philosophy. His primary focus was on parts of government other than the pentagon. He stayed away from weapons and made most of his money lecturing.

4. Of course, he could have just done what Lieberman has been doing for years
registering as a Democrat and then catering to the Republicans at every opportunity.

Too bad we don't have an ignore box for Lieberman.

6. Lieberman was in attack mode
today. I don't care if Clark was a lobbyist. I really doubt that most Americans will care either. They're more concerned about feeling safe in their own country, having a job, having health care, having Medicare and SS when they need it, having a clean and safe environment to pass on to their children and putting food on their tables. Being an ex-lobbyist means NOTHING to mid-america.

7. Its ok, if Clark is pressed on this
He will turn it to his favor. He will explain to Americans exactly what he was doing and remove any doubt that Lieberman tries to attach to him. In the final analysis it will be seen that Clark was helping our country, not doing shady deals.

12. Clark was a MAJOR CIA/Pentagon Lobbyist (Stephens Group/Axciom)
His supporters can try to minimize it, but anyone who knows the history of Stephens' ties to the saudi financing of the Bushes (not to mention their financing Clinton, hedging their bets) knows that his lobbying places him dangerously at the heart of the military-industrial corporo-fascist heirarchy.

Lieberman is right.

Google Stephens, Axciom and Jert Blue with Clark.

It is all out there for those with ears that hear.

17. Riiiight,
Mr. & Mrs. mid-america are really concerned about Clark being a lobbyist. :eyes: Wanna bet the majority of them have never heard of Axciom? I suggest you look at what he's doing NOW. Maybe pay attention to how he has presented his position on the MAJOR issues. Maybe HEAR what he is saying, NOW.

LISTEN. HEAR. PAY ATTENTION to what he is doing NOW. sheesh.

22. Truth, not smear
I hope this produces some media interest actually, so Clark addresses the issue and puts it to bed. I'm never afraid for Clark, because he is not afraid. He'll face it, explain it, and move on.

People here hate Lieberman more than they hate Bush, Osama, or Saddam Hussein.

Is there no room in the party for people who supported the war? Who think lowering taxes on working families is a good thing? Who support Israel in its war against Palestinian terrorism? For religious Jews?

Do you really want to excommunicate all those people from the Democratic party?

Edit: Sorry, this isn't supposed to be a response to the last poster, but to the thread in general.
