Been reading the Kerry education plan because it directly affects me

Offer National Service Opportunities. John Kerry will make a new deal with hundreds of thousands of young people: If you will serve America for two years-working in a school, a health center, or strengthening America's security-we will make sure you can attend four years of college tuition-free.
I like this, I must say. One of my dreams is to get a college education.
This alone is enough to make me want to work hard to get these guys in.

1. In the words of our president to be...
Hope is on the way!

I pray you get your chance to go to college. We're all going to do our part to make it happen. :)

2. You know what's really great about this?
It will give young people the chance to not only go to college, but to also work in places and with people they might not otherwise meet in life.

I've been thinking to day about the myriad paths my life has taken and how at this point in my life, I am really glad they did. I've had some flat out crazy job and life experiences that I wouldn't trade for anything and they don't all involve getting drunk with my sorority sisters (or my co-workers, or the other moms in my subdivision, etc. etc.) on a Saturday night.

3. right, real world experience and amazing people
Kerry got flack for this in the primary but as a young person, I'd rather take this than what Bush has to offer, its a great plan.

5. Well John
even if that doesnt happen, which I doubt at this point it will not, there are plenty of ways a determined and bright young person can go to school tuition free. There are a number of good web sites that can help you look.

6. right
Its just hard for my family to afford college because only my mom works, my dad's been out of a job since Nana went in to the nursing home. My point by posting this was Kerry's legislation will directly affect me and that makes me a happy person.

7. I know how you feel, John. Who is president does make a difference
in millions of people's lives.

If Al Gore had taken his rightful place in the Oval Office, I wouldn't be scrambling to find a school program for my almost 4yo. His plan was to extend public schooling to 4 yo. Now, I have to pay 250.00 a month for a 4 hours a day 4 days a week schedule for her.

And what about those kids whose working parents make too much to qualify for Head Start, but not enough to pay 250.00 a month? No school at all for those kids until they get into kindergarten.

8. The New Deal made a signifance difference
in the life of my grandparents. Yeah, head start for instance, my brother is near your kid's age, if we had a program that enabled a kindercare like to take care of him, my dad wouldnt always be so stressed out, my dad takes care of him now. Its a shame, really is. I remember reading in Al Franken's book, Lying Liars that he and Tucker Carlson were talking and Tucker said you actually believe that government can make a differance in someone's life and he laughed like the bow tied weasel he is, and Al told how the government helped out his mother in law and wife while they were growing up in New England. The truth of the matter is that programs can help people, and a program like this will help me do good in college, it also will give many people life experiences. Do you remember in the primary when people gave Kerry a hard time for this program idea, I think its a great idea.

9. We will all be happy once he's elected.
There are many issues that affect each and every one of us. I'm hopeful about education and the help for college as my son has great aspirations to go to college one day and I know we'd never be able to give that to him without any help.

10. right
very true. Hell honestly, I am not crazy but Ive contemplated enlisting in the military a few times despite a heart condition, I'd be honored to be in the military with a man like Kerry as comannder in chief, and I consider myself a pacifist, eh maybe a medic would be better than a solider but Ive contemplated it more than once, which is very strange, Kerry I think is our best nominee in a while, I truly love this guy, he understands things well.

11. This effects all of us...
I never considered college because well, I couldnt. Unless I got a loan. My dad got a loan and now he's in debt because of it. I dont want that. Now Kerry has given me hope. Hope that I may indeed actually get to go to college, and even better hope that I wont be drafted. I dont see how anyone in their right mind could still support Bush now. If they truly wanted what's best for our future. They'd know better than to vote for Bush. Everything is on the line come November 2nd.

12. right
I am afraid of being drafted too but I think I could accept the call to duty if my country asked me under President Kerry. I like this too, this gives hope to those kids out there who think the military is their only way out, so they can get college education to quote John Edwards, "it doesnt have to be that way", this will really help those families who need it, I live in a wealthy area but I dont think I am as well off as others, I think this program and other Kerry intiated programs would enable my folks to pay my tution better.
