that will just be general politics and not about the damn primary, without the threads being locked.

stuff is happening politically that we would normally talk about in gd, ... but, OH NO.... we cant talk about it YET. cause this shit will never end

i would put this rant in gd, but the damn thread would be locked.

so now i will go back to gd... feeling a tad better

1. You see, there is the true irony. We have been LOCKED UP IN HELL...
admins won't declare stupid, silly, race-baiting, troll season over HERE.. we can't talk about shit here because disruptors come in to disrupt every thread or post so many that a decent thread sinks like lead AND most of the good DU longtimers won't set foot in this cesspool. So, Obama gets attacked daily, his supporters get attacked, McCain continues to get a pass.

So, some of us thought, well, let's go over to GD to talk about McCain and how we defeat him in November.. that leaves GD:P for all the Hillary supporters who want to do nothing but attack Obama.. and we can get started on the GE. After all, that's what Democrats do, right? I thought that's why this place was created, to defeat Bush and the REpublicans.. but WTF do I know. Right now, it seems to be a babysitting service for distraught Hillary supporters or rw trolls who want to bash Obama. Anyway, then we find out we CANT GO TO GD.

We're stuck here. Last place in the fucking KNOWN UNIVERSE where this kind of crap is tolerated.

We've asked for GD:Politics back.. had hundreds of signatures BEGGING for a place to discuss the General Election that is COMING.. and to get on top of this McCain crap.. but no.. we're in limbo, consigned to Hell.

Last I heard officially was this: "Most of this will fizzle out by JULY". JULY??

:-) :hi:

and it sits in limbo in this room.

i heary ya... thanks for the info cause i just run in here once a week and glance around and jump back into gd. no desire to try to talk about what is going on with our candidate in here to, what...? end up with the very frustration you describe.

3. We may try to get some discussions started in the Obama Group Forum.. doubt
many will find the threads over there, but this shows no evidence of letting up.

Thanks for wandering in and sharing your frustration.. know you're not the only one. :hi:

5. That would be great if we could get some threads going there -
but won't the Hillary supporters find them there? Or are they not allowed to do that? (I'm still relatively new to DU and learning all the rules). I really want to focus on McCain as well. I know that most of the country is more progressive, but I'm stuck in Texas and it seems like everyone here thinks McCain is "moderate". If that is true everywhere we have our work cut out for us.

7. I guess these are the rules for the Obama group
The mission of the Barack Obama Group is to discuss this rising star in the Democratic Party and to share news and information about his life, career and political future. DUers who are supporters of Senator Obama for President, or have a positive view of the Senator and are open to an Obama candidacy in 2008 are welcome.

If they don't meet that criteria they shouldn't be posting there.

9. i dont want to go to a smaller, more isolated area. i want ALL of gd
it is more fun to get all the people that just jump into threads giving their input. the more the merrier. the problem is a lot of the fun, cool, insiteful people wont come in here cause there are sides. they just want to talk our candidate or something that is up but not get in this heavy duty competitive bullshit that is already over with anyway.

6. I was threatened the other night with tombstoning for alerting on multiple threads...
...of a particularly odius troll. How can threatening longtime, well-intentioned DUers-in-good-standing with BANNING be good for the community?

8. I think
they are giving the Clinton supporters some more lattitude right now since this is the end and people are saying somethings out of anger.

10. Yeah, but at the expense of the majority?
I think more poeple are saying thing out of trolling than anger. Which means trolls are likely getting the benefit of the doubt over good members simply trying to follow the rules.
