I am SO SICK OF THIS CRAP

This campaign is mathematically OVER. Yet Hillary and Co. seem hell bent on dragging the whole party down and ensuring a Republican victory in November. And the thing that INFURIATES me is all this talk of appeasement for, and taking it easy on the Hillary gang, then having them whump us upside the head with that mace.

No, there is nothing wrong with trying to mend fences. But the PROBLEM IS that every time we lower our guard and try to reach out, we get whumped up the head with that mace again. That is why I posted that political cartoon -- it fits the picture perfectly.

Just browse GD-P. All the Hillary talking points, ANTAGONISTIC talking points originating from Hillary herself (as was proven with that audio tape posted yesterday) are in full force on GD-P. "We have the popular vote majority". "We will carry the electoral college and Obama won't". Etc., etc. These are ALL issues pointing directly at dragging this out all the way to the convention. I even see the Resko issue being resurrected from the dead. And all the crap from the "Hillary is 44" website indicating that the hardcore Hillary supporters fully intend to sink the whole party (and possibly the country) if their candidate isn't elected.

Oh, and by the way, if you find the cartoon sexist -- too bad, because it was Hillary herself, in her audiotape, who really laid out the claim that she was being assailed because she was a woman and that there was so much sexism involved in the race. (Unfair! I'm just a girl!)

And the final straw -- well, the camel's back broke a long time ago, but here's another straw anyway -- is the Rove involvement. Possibly the biggest criminal in US history, outside of Cheney, and Camp Clinton is listening to him. This man has caused more damage to this country -- from the Texas Gubernatorial elections to the smearing of Max Cleland to the theft of the 2000 and 2004 elections -- and Camp Clinton is taking input from him???

Barring some miracle for Hillary, if she doesn't drop out by June 3rd, I have no choice but to see her as someone actively working to destroy the Democratic Party, whether intentionally or not. If she does drop out (given the math points to no other REASONABLE alternative) I will take it all back. But until this happens -- how in the hell can you "mend fences" with someone trying to wreak havoc on the Democratic Party?

Thank you for letting me rant. I guess the only way I can "mend fences" from this point on is to just ignore the antagonistic talking points originating from the Clinton side.

A final word -- many of the Clinton antagonistic posts would have been appropriate 2 or 3 months ago. Now they only serve to fuel the Republicans. That is why I find them to be such a problem at this point.

"many of the Clinton antagonistic posts would have been appropriate 2 or 3 months ago. Now they only serve to fuel the Republicans. That is why I find them to be such a problem at this point."

People keep saying it's a matter of how many posts one has to differentiate Dems and Freepers, but they brag that they've been posting in sleeper mode for quite some time. That runs up their number of posts and then they out themselves and start over again.

"I knew you guys would love this stuff!
This is the email I used when I joined DU several months ago. I'm now signed up for all these "Progressive Newsletters" and find them... barfable..." Posted: Wednesday, June 01, 2005

29. Spot on. Now we have to get the jumpers off their ledge.
I think we need a "Poltergeist" theme:

Follow the light, Hilary Supporter Ann (or Andy). You were never good at math, but that's okay. Follow the light and no one will judge you for it. Hey, the light is over here. Can you see it?

Alright, you are good at math and you know you're fucked. So just follow the light and wake up. We still love you, Hilary Supporter Ann (or Andy). Follow the light.

Is your (can't-mathematically-or-popularly win the nomination) candidate's pride that enormous to you? I guess it is. The flashlight was in your face over a month ago and you were just as "blind" then as now. But you can still follow the light Hilary Supporter Ann (or Andy). The light still loves you very much. And if you get over it by 5/22, the light will even rim you. Keep in mind this is time sensitive deadline.

Ask yourself, "What will be left of our country after a 4 year continuation of * under McCain?" I don't think there will be much to comeback to and that's if there is any reason.

That's why there is a reason to follow the light now, Hilary Supporter Ann (or Andy). If you don't, we're all fucked and there is no more light. Yes we love you, but you do really annoy us under these circumstances. (You stupid bitch. And that goes for Andy, too.)

Light is light. To see it is another thing altogether.

32. I was thinking about this today...
and I honestly wonder if she were a man would she be getting a pass on this delusional bullshit. I'm starting to be offended at the constant cries of sexism from her supporters whenever it is suggested she should bow out, it isn't about her gender, it's about reality. But God forbid anyone suggest she should STOP, lest they be called a sexist. The newest tactic is to point out Ted Kennedy's taking it all the way to the convention in 1980 (and we all know how well that turned out) as some sort of vindication for Hillary's "fighting spirit" etc. As a woman, I call bullshit. It's not sexism, it's reality, it's not because no one wants a woman to be president, it's just that this woman didn't get the job done. I especially don't want our first woman president to get the nomination because they changed the rules!!!

that she is winning the popular vote and she can win the electoral college both can be backed up without Rove's help and they are

perfectly acceptable arguments to make. Just because they bother you does not make them antagonistic.

She is a possible nominee of our party and you are willfully trying to damage her in the GE with right wing attacks.

but right now she's simply, er, stretching the truth. She is not a possible nominee. She's done. If she's a possible nominee then you won't have any problem at all explaining to me how she gets there. And leave out the asteroid hits Obama nonsense. The SDs clearly want NOTHING to do with her. She's 200 delegates in back of Obama. By tomorrow this time Obama will be only 50 away from 2025, and nothing the RBC does will change the fact that Obama will be the nominee in less than 3 weeks. It's ridiculous to keep talking like she has a chance.

First off, Obama is winning the popular vote. (not that it matters) Hillary is not even remotely close. If you want to disenfranchise all those caucus states, and count MI & FL he STILL wins the popular vote. It's not stretching the truth, it's flat out lying!

Second, don't even play the "rovian attack" card bull sh*t. The ONLY candidate using that is Hillary. So please, stop the "we'll use it and blame them for it" tactic. It doesn't work.

Whine: Sexism sexism sexism!
Whine: Obama is using race unfairly!
Whine: If only all voters were low income white voters!
Whine: If you use our math, we have the most votes!

75. project on this.
Whine: when republicans vote for Obama it's because he's reaching out but when they vote for Hillary it's because rush limbaugh told them to.
Whine: racism, racism racism!
Whine: Michigan and Florida broke the rules but if the super delegates follow the rules and vote for the candidate with fewer pledged delegates, we'll raise unholy hell about it.
Whine: If Hillary supporters don't vote for Barack Obama in the GE they're traitors but if Barack Obama supporters don't vote for Hillary in the GE, they're just being good Democrats.
Whine: When white people vote for Hillary, they're inbred tobacco chewing racists but when black people vote for Obama, it has nothing to do with his race.
Whine: When Hillary or her supporters take off the gloves it's unacceptable but when Barack Obama or his supporters take off the gloves it's "if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen".

Rather than having this post deleted, I'll just end it right here and not tell you what you can do with your projection.

80. Yea, right...
"Whine: when republicans vote for Obama it's because he's reaching out but when they vote for Hillary it's because rush limbaugh told them to."

The statistics show what really happened with Rush's operation chaos. There was a minor influx of Republican votes for Obama, then a flood of Republican votes for Hillary after Rush started his operation chaos. You fail.

"Whine: racism, racism racism!"

You got a tape of Obama saying this the same way we have a tape of Hillary instructing her followers to scream sexism? You fail.

"Whine: Michigan and Florida broke the rules but if the super delegates follow the rules and vote for the candidate with fewer pledged delegates, we'll raise unholy hell about it."

We'll see how this turns out (and are, in fact, already seeing it -- Supes voting their conscience) and I don't think you will like the results.

"Whine: If Hillary supporters don't vote for Barack Obama in the GE they're traitors but if Barack Obama supporters don't vote for Hillary in the GE, they're just being good Democrats."

Who the hell said this about Obama supporters??? Did you just pull this out of your ass?

"Whine: When white people vote for Hillary, they're inbred tobacco chewing racists but when black people vote for Obama, it has nothing to do with his race."

No, there are a LOT of white people voting for Obama, as you will see with the Oregon vote today.

"Whine: When Hillary or her supporters take off the gloves it's unacceptable but when Barack Obama or his supporters take off the gloves it's "if you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen"."

This is the funniest one of all!!! Exactly who was it that said "if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen"? It was Hillary, not Obama. Just proves my projection point.

74. Hmm, I thought the goal was to win delegates
Now you're saying that the goal is to be stronger against McCain in the polls.

I'm so confused.

Was Hillary aware of the whole delegates thing when this whole primary season started?

Was she aware that Florida and Michigan wouldn't have their delegates seated before the primaries there?

Maybe she lost the memos...

87. or because he won the delegate count.
ya know, if hillary had run a better campaign, considering she came into this race with the name recongnition, the money, and the media calling her inevitable, she might have been the nominee. But instead, she was not adaptable to the situation as it developed, couldn't quite figure out which voice she needed to win, and then when February 5th came and she hadn't beat everyone, she had to scramble because she was broke and hadn't planned to have to fight for votes. So she can try to blame anyone else all she wants, but the fact of the matter is that the only person to blame for her predicament right now is herself.

99. Contradictory Cartoons
This is hillarious. Nice cartoon assemblage. Not only does that last one not make sense, it makes the whole lot of them moot. LOL

The top ones show the weight of the the Rev. Wright burden and his assault by the MSM on the issue, and then in the ultimate flip-flop a lame Repuke cartoon implying the MSM loves him. :wtf:

I understand logic is not a big ingredient in McClinton's arsenal but I expected a better effort than that.

And the 'crazy ex-preacher' angle continues to be the only 'scandal' they can think of.

to reach out in the way that you call "appeasement."

Too bad you don't trust him.

And he also said today that HRC has been the target of sexist attacks in the campaign.

But you apparently think you know better.

P.S. I'm not in the Clinton camp.

http://www.abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/story?id=4895145&page=1

Sen. Barack Obama said today that he agrees with Sen. Hillary Clinton that she has faced some sexism in the media coverage of her campaign.

"No doubt there are certain burdens for Sen. Clinton running as a formidable but first-time front-runner as a woman in the same way I've got to deal with some issues as an African-American," Obama told ABC's Jake Tapper.

"There is no doubt that there have been occasions where Sen. Clinton has had to overcome particular hurdles, and that is part of the groundbreaking nature of her campaign," he said.

Barak will get the nomination, of course.

Hillary will shut up and move into the shadows.

Hillary will have the biggest "I TOLD YOU SO" in the history of Democratic Party.

Not very funny, and redundant. Three of them about Reverend Wright, not about him. And the cartoon about the MSM just doesn't make much sense.

Truth be told, I think Obama just isn't someone easy to caricature. George Bush? Oh yeah. McCain? They're going to have a field day.

94. You call it damage
I call it 10, ooo new Democrats in my state, a voter turnout of over 70% in our party today and a contest close enough to gain and hold attention for a win in November. Every Primary should look like this. Every cycle should make more Democrats and convert districts from Red to Blue in advance of the General Election. Kerry was a fast pick, no one really wanted to vote for him and he lost. Yes, he is not the President. This time millions are feeling passionate about the candidates. Donating and being active. This time we win.
Too much media and not enough street time makes it look like something it is not. This is a day and a cycle that should bring joy to the hearts of all Democrats. No damage is being done to anyone, in fact, every day of this Primary thus far has done nothing but help our eventual nominee.
So, sure it annoys those on the sidelines and those who voted months ago, but so what? I want to win in November. The Super delegates could have spoken up and shut it down, if there was incredible freaking damage being done. But they see the actuality, which is the opposite of damage. We are laying a groundwork for victory. If it annoys you too much, there are many down ticket Democrats who could use your attention and energy. Besides, it is almost over now, and once we take the White House and increase our majority in Congress, all of this will look very much worth it. Frankly, as real elections with real choices go, this one is child's play and sweet as pie. Democracy looks like an argument until there is consensus.
