My 2nd outrage post re: Ferraro/Dirt off his shoulder gesture. . .IT WASN'T FUCKING ABOUT HILLARY!
. . .it was about the entire ABC debate. Even if Obama was referring Hillary when he did the "dirt off of his shoulder" gesture it was stretch, but the reality is when Obama made the gesture he was responding to the entire ABC debate.

For Ferraro to be offended by that is absolutely ridiculous, I think her bigoted ass is more offended by a Black man with a swagger, natural grace and a popularity Hillary will never have.

I know this is my 2nd OP about this, but it deserved its own. I'm very sensitive to the issue of sexism but I'm outraged by the implication that Obama is sexist. Secondly, I'm equally offended because it seems that Obama is not allowed to bring up race or racism, but its completely acceptable for Hillary and her supporters to call him sexist without any evidence.

1. Vieria gave Ferraro a free pass to name whatever sexist claims the Obama camp made towards Hillary
and that was what she came up with. Pretty lame.

2. They think EVERYTHING revolves around Hillary
or women, it makes me sick. (I am a woman, watching this has made me want to hurl :puke:)

I wish Ferraro would realize how pathetic that interview made her look.

And today of all days :eyes: Oh, I forgot, attempts to shore up the sympathy base?

4. ITA. Hillary and her surrogates are humiliating us all....
As a woman I cringe every time they pull their lame crap. It is embarassing to watch, and to have it reflected upon my demographic.

3. This bullshit will only get worse. It won't stop until Hillary is GONE, FINITO, FINIS. This
is the kind of garbage she inspires. What a fucking loser. Leader? Not in this lifetime.

6. I've seen the footage of that speech dozens of times
Obama is talking about the dirty tricks that are part of traditional washington politics and notes that that is what Clinton is about. Because, honestly, that IS what she is about.

And he says you have to brush the dirt of this sort of Washington old-style politics off and go on. "That's what you've gotta do."

Anyone who tries to construe that as a sexist attack is desperate.

Hillary has lost this nomination, yet she cannot seem to accept this fact. Funny. Long ago, a lot of us at DU had thought about sending Bush a "pink slip" to say he was fired. Can you imagine if we wanted to do this same thing with Clinton? It would be totally miscontrued when, in fact, it has NOTHING to do with sexism of any sort. But if you want to claim something is sexist you can. Doesn't mean it's true, however.

8. But it's the only way the gung-ho Hillary supporters can charge sexism
They have to contort every comment or gesture into a sexist attack, because there is no "there" there.

What annoys me is that Hillary and her die-hards will not acknowledge her own responsibility for where she is in this contest.

Her $20 million debt didn't happen because 'the boys' were giving her a difficult time. Where is her base of support?

Her inability to win more primaries even with her fundraising head-start and her ridiculously high name recognition was not due to sexism. She ran a bad campaign.

Her superdelegate lead wasn't erased because of sexism. One needs only read the statements of the SDs who declared to understand why they made their choices - and there are plenty of women in there.

9. Rachel had a good point on these sexist remarks accusations.
She pointed out that perhaps this is a generational thing. After all, Geraldine was hot in the women's liberation movement. Rachel took an entirely different view of the "flicking off the shoulder" gesture, and took it as being from some rock star or celebrity.

I came here to post about it I was so angry when I heard this shit it is ridiculous. I can hardly stand to watch her on television hillary and Ferraro. They have the AUDACITY to say they are speaking for all women, if she were to win she could not do her job with all of the hate she has generated.

14. What bothered me ...
I kept yelling at the tv this morning while Ferrero was being interviewed. She kept coming back to the fact that Hillary was attacked incessently during the Philly debate because she was a woman ... NO, SHE WAS ATTACKED BECAUSE SHE WAS THE FRONT RUNNER. Hillary is a candidate who at the time was running on the theme that she was inevitable. Can anyone blame the other candidates for taking her on? She was the front runner and that is why she had the bullseye on her, not due to her gender. I cannot understand why Ferrero is being so angry over the race ... I really just do not get it.

18. Geraldine Ferraro is a very troubled and sick woman. McCain deserves her support.
What a vile human being she has become...or maybe always was.

Racist to the core.

Disruptive to the Democratic Party to the core.

Hurtful to every child of color in this nation.

Vile.
