The GE needs to start with DU
If Obama does lock up the pledged delegate count tonight, I implore DU to do the right thing and declare Obama the presumptive nominee, with all the trappings that come with that. Its time to unite around our Nominee and focus on McCain.

Please, lets end the charade IF Obama get the elected delegate majority.

11. If having an opponent
in the primary destroys his chance of winning in November, then he's not a very strong candidate.

17. Having an opponent keep him from focusing on the GE while steady attacking destroys OUR chances in
November. Why can't you see that?

20. because the logic could've been applied
as back as far as the first primaries.

It just doesn't fly - this is a primary campaign. He hasn't won yet. I understand that's frustrating for you, but that's how it works.

When one candidate can no longer win, then she is officially playing the role of a spoiler for the other side.

25. Ah, I see the problem
You think Obama has the majority of all the delegates. That's your mistake - he doesn't.

29. Did you support the DLC forcing an end to the 2004 primary in February?
I know a lot of the Hillary supporters (at least the ones with DLC leanings) were fine with the primary being called then. When Obama gets to 2025, I simply don't see any point in keeping up the pretense any longer.

Reality is that this was over in Wisconsin. But Hillary still had a path then, although an extremely narrow one. Once Obama reaches "The Number" Hillary either supports the nominee, or she hurts the party.

I know you don't want President McLoon.

It's eating your own to try and force a presumptive nominee so you don't have to listen to Hillary supporters.

10. They have unfolded. If Obama locks up the pledged delegates, we have a presumptive nominee
and its time to start acting like it. Hillary should not hold the entire party hostage while McCain runs around on his free pass.

13. No we don't
when he has the majority of ALL delegates, then we have a presumptive nominee. This "majority of the pledged delegates" is an entirely made up finish line you guys have concocted.

15. I've been here since 2001 and it's never been as bad as it is now
And I think it's the bullying tactics of some Obama supporters that are making it this way. Declare him the nominee! Hillary must leave the party! Hillary's a traitor! When will DU declare Obama the nominee so that Hillary people will go away!

Some of us are a little frightened by this attempt to squelch dialogue.

a good liberal - about as liberal as Obama is.

They know what they're doing, and they're right. In the meantime go outside and play ball, or manhunt, or kick the can or something. The GE fight is coming soon enough. And no; when it does it won't be because of your feeble and laughably arrogant wee little rant here.
