Woot! Obama raised 31 million in April.
Obama's April numbers: $31.3 million
by kos
Tue May 20, 2008 at 05:27:19 PM PDT
Via email from the Obama campaign:

New donors in April: 200,000
94% of contributions were under $200
93% of contributions were $100 or less
77% of contributions were $50 or less
52% of contributions were $25 or less

Number of donors to the Obama campaign overall at the end of April: 1.475 million
Number of contributions given: 2,929,000 million
Average donation: $91

Amount raised in April: $31.3 million (plus an additional $600,000 for the general election)

Cash on Hand: $37.3 million (plus an additional $9.2 million for the general election)
The Clinton campaign is rumored to have raised somewhere in the mid-teens, while being about $20 million in debt.

Running a campaign into the ground, fiscally mismanaging it, and entering the general election tens of millions in debt is so electable

3. She is broke....that's why she keeps mentioning her website
She made a mistake of not acknowledging the small donors like Obama did. She discounted the grassroots effort and it cost her....another blunder...

7. Since she claims more voters are on her side....

Why can't they donate more to her campaign?

9. Because she was counting on the large donors that maxed out
what they can give...and they can't give anymore....

Welcome to DU!!:hi:

14. I know about large donors.
I'm talking about the voters who keep voting for her.

Thank you for the welcome.

16. It's a legitimate question.
And it would actually lend some credibility to the many theories that have floated around about much of her support coming form Republican voters who wanted to disrupt our elections. I'm not saying it's the case, but when you have a large number of voters unwilling to contribute financially, it should raise some eyebrows.

17. Because
a) 75% of them don't want her to win

and

b) The rest of them are, how shall I say this nicely, not very upwardly mobile.

5. Word around here is that Wolfson said HRC raised $22 million
and if that's true, it's doubly bad news--remember how she was the $10,000,000 woman the night of the PA primary? Looks like that was either bullshit or her donors completely shot their wad for that one last push.
