Poll question: Will Obama Make 2025 by May 31st?
After tonight, Obama should have somewhere around 1960-1965 delegates (give or take).

That leaves 60-65 to go before he reaches 2025...

Do you think he can rake in enough superdelegates to do that by May 31, when they decide how to handle the delegates from Michigan and Florida?

What the heck, let's make this a poll.

1. I think he'll make it tomorrow
the Supers might come out in droves now that the pledged delegate majority has been clinched.

2. It's possible, depending on the superdelegate flow.

4. I said no.
I don't think he will get enough supers by then. Maybe PR on June 1. I think SD and MT push him over the line on June 3.

9. it's not up to Hillary.
We know it's up to those bigwigs on the 31st. I think he'll reach the magic number after June 3rd.

6. Frankly, it wouldn't look good if he couldn't get 55-odd superdelegates he needs
to get to 2025 by May 31. He's in the driver's seat now--time for him to start making the rules rules.

10. I'm not sure I understand that...

His steady flow of superdelegates has been about one to six per day.

In order to get to the goal line, he'd have to make five to six superdelegates per day, even over the weekends.

It's doable, but I wouldn't say that it would look bad if he didn't.

13. You're absolutely right--I was thinking in terms of his checkmating Hillary

Along with shunning the caucus votes for the popular vote, she's been dropping hints that the SDs are "hesitant" about "coming out" for Obama. A steady stream of SDs would counter that beautifully, and if that stream takes him to 2025 by May 31, Hillary will have even less leverage for that MI/FL meeting with the DNC.

7. Don't know --
this campaign has been all over the charts so many times. I'll believe it when the DNC tells us who our nom is.

14. He'll hit 2025 by Memorial Day
He'll probably hit 2025 before the end of the week.

You heard it here first.

15. I was hoping he'd be within 30 by now to be honest
The SD flow halted a little after West Virginia. Hopefully, Obama's win in Oregon will pick up the flow a little more since he didn't have a win last week.
