The Wigand Electoral Average uses public polling results to determine base states for both parties and a short list of swing states, and combines the actual electoral votes from base states with a weighted Intrade calculation for electoral votes from swing states to derive an average on a scale of 0 to 100. On this scale, greater than 50.00 is considered a win for Barack Obama. An average of 50.10 would yield 270 electoral votes, and an average of 100.00 would yield 538 electoral votes. 1. lunch kick
Missouri and Nebraska each moved five points since yesterday, in opposite directions. Missouri becomes more red, while Nebraska gets bluer.

South Carolina is beginning to show signs of life, up 3.00 since yesterday.

Iowa bumped up 2.40. It'll be interesting to see how Iowa closes today, and whether it gains further from Obama's speech there last night.

3. So, you think Jim Webb for VP?
I've been reading a little about him since last night. The guy has a Silver Star, two Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts, as well as the Navy Cross.

He also wrote a piece in 2003 for the New York Times, where he said that a protracted guerrilla conflict would be a likely outcome of an American invasion of Iraq. He wrote in USA Today in 2004 that Bush had "committed the greatest strategic blunder in modern memory" with the invasion of Iraq.

This guy knows military!

4. Well the most compelling thing I think is that he keeps his composure on TV
while launching an intelligent full force attack.

7. Maybe Bill-O should take notes (lol)
"Fuck it, I'll do it live!"

Here's Jim Webb ripping Lindsey Graham on Meet the Press:

6. That has potential
It could draw in the less radical of the conservative/independent voters.

I just have to say that I doubt I'll be disappointed in whomever Obama picks for VP. His campaign (for the most part) has been a study in the right way of doing things. I don't think he'll let us down now.

8. The more I learn about Webb, the more I like him
Webb compliments and strengthens Obama's platform, it seems.

Obama will surely make a wise VP decision, it's in his nature.
