Hillary Clinton has performed better than Obama with Hispanic voters, although the latest Gallup tracking poll suggests that the Illinois senator has erased his disadvantage with that key voting bloc.
I'm really gald to hear that. I think Obama needs to pay a lot of attention to Puerto Rico. It's Hillary's last likely win, and if he can do well there instead of giving it up like he did in KY and WV he'll have a lot more momentum going into the General. Plus I don't know that the demographics are as dead set against him there.
Bill Richardson is of Mexican descent. The Puerto Ricans I grew up with in the Bronx almost universally looked down on Mexicans - apparently, Mexicans are considered to be fairly low on the pan-Latino social totem pole.
I'm also from the Bronx (live in Texas right now) and I also found this to be true. I don't really know if it'd be the case with a distinguished Governor, of course, but I did want to chime in with my own similar observations and experience. I will hope for the best in this case. :)
