Clinton Invokes 2000 Recount
By KATE PHILLIPS
In the wake of her romp in Kentucky last night, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton pivoted with a wheels-up for a trip to Florida, one of those two states she’s intent on seeing included in the delegate count as she uses her own magic math of 2210 delegates needed to become the Democratic nominee. (Not the 2026 the Obama campaign relies on, but the Clinton calculus that includes the Florida-Michigan seating.)

She dialed in to the radio in Cleveland, Ohio, this morning, with Florida in mind, and reminding us all of oh, the 2000 nightmare that was a 36-day recount. Remember that? She’s not going to let us forget it soon; (at least not before the May 31 meeting of the Rules and Bylaws Committee of the Democratic National Committee).

Now, given that the 2000 recount was all about manipulating the count in order for Bush to win, not to count all the votes, isn't it ironic that Clinton invokes this now? Given that she only wants to count Fl and Mi in the only way that would allow her to possibly claim any sort of popular vote mandate (e.g. no votes for Obama in Mi at all). Win at all costs, and damn the rules.

7. contesting the election
would've thrown it to the House, where Bush would've won in a perfectly legitimate, constitutional way.

AS it is, his "win" will always be suspect. There was nothing to be done after the Supreme Court ruled. There was no possible outcome that would've made Gore President. It could only have given Bush a constitutionally legitimized win.

8. yes they could have
do remember from Fahrenheit 911
when all those black congressional leaders asked to question the results of Florida and they could not get one senator to sign on with them, Clinton was senator why didn't she do it? If she was so concerned, she didn't even do it in 2004, it was Boxer.

Come on you know she really doesn't about that voters, Her faux doesn't care is only because it can help her carry on this charade a little longer.

10. And do you know why no senator stood up?
including Joe Lieberman, the VP candidate?

Because Al Gore asked them not to, as it wouldn't effect the outcome. Moore was a little free with the whole truth in that scene.

Why do you single out Clinton for responsibility?

14. That doesn't matter does it and yes i knew that
but if she is such a champion for voters then why didn't she say the hell with uniting the country, this is a civil rights movement, why didn't she stand up for Ohio?

The reason I signal her out is because I believe she is a hypocrite. Like I said in my earlier post all she cares about is getting an advantage not the voters so don't pretend she has integrity when she does not. Do remember all her lies?

15. It doesn't matter?
Then there's no point in talking to you. You obviously just want to attack her and aren't interested in any facts that actually pertain to your bogus attack.

16. she doesn't care about uniting the party now does she
haven't high ranking dems said its time move on for the sake of the party? She has not, she doesn't care what they say, then why would she care what AL Gore says? She do whats right, right?

again why do you refuse to answer, why didn't she step up in Ohio?

My point she doesn't really care about the voters all she cares about is herself, if not then why would she lie so easily

Has she lied in this campaign repeatedly, yes or no?

13. I can't take Hillary anymore
I started this season as someone who admired her and supported Clinton but now I cannot stand the Clinton's anymore. It's all about them and their ambition.

People here were saying she was going to quite but I knew she would take this to the convention. I have called it. The convention is going to be a nasty affair.

6. She was just fine with the caucuses, too,
until she lost them. Then they didn't count, either. I don't remember her saying anything about the crap that went on in Ohio in 2004, either.

12. Did you know
That when the DNC CC voted to strip FL and MI, the only person to vote against it was Obama supporter Allan Katz:

"The rules committee was largely unmoved; only one member -- Florida's Allan Katz -- voted against imposing the sanctions."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/20...

Clinton had 13 supporters on the DNC Committee (the largest block) ALL of them voted to sanction FL & MI. Surprising she hasn't brought this up. surprising that Obama hasn't brought this up, well not really...
