2. "I didn't listen to them for years. I was just being an opportunist. "
Perhaps he can get back in with conservatives by saying he worships money and power instead.

8. He did.
Today, McCain on Hagee:

"But let me also be clear, Reverend Hagee was not and is not my pastor or spiritual advisor, and I did not attend his church for twenty years. I have denounced statements he made immediately upon learning of them, as I do again today."

13. How does McCain plan on winning hearts & minds in the ME...

6. Ha! That's the earliest I've ever gotten in on the comments on one of these.
Just had to say a little something about that "even though he endorsed me, and I didn't endorse him..." line he used. If McCain calling Parsley a "truly great leader, moral compass and spiritual guide" isn't an endorsement then what the hell is? It would be nice if the reporting seized on that one as this goes forward.

Well, maybe it will piss off some conservative crazies (an essential part of the Republican base).

"We embrace the fine members of the religious conservative community. But that does not mean that we will pander to their self-appointed leaders." John McCain, pander to the religious right? Never!

11. So what happened? Did McLoon finally find out what Hagee and Parsley were REALLY all about?
I'm sure his "craziest wing of PNAC" foreign policy team recommended Hagee. Not sure how Parsley got involved. Except his show follows Hagee's on Sunday afternoon, so they might have found him by accident.
