What Would Hillary Gain By Bullying Her Way Onto The Ticket?
She'd get to preside over the Senate and cast any tie breaking votes. That's not much when there will be a huge Democratic majority in the Senate.

She gets to wait around for something to happen to Barack Obama.

Anything beyond those two constitutional duties is 100% determined by Barack Obama, nobody else.

How many duties do you actually think Obama would give Clinton if she forces her way on the ticket?

He isn't even required to provide her with office space if he doesn't want to. He may not even send her off to funerals of former heads of state.

How much face time would she actually get in four years time if Obama is displeased with her forcing herself onto the ticket?

And why would she want to put herself into such a position?

2. First of all, who besides the meddling media wants Hillary Clinton for VP?
The Vice-Presidency would be a demotion for a US Senator. The margin in the Senate is barely Democratic. If Obama and Hillary are elected that would make two senate seats that would come up for election ahead of time.

John Nance Garner, a Vice President under FDR said: "The Vice-Presidency isn't worth a pitcher of warm spit". Do not judge the Vice-Presidency by what Dick Cheney has done.

It is a worthless office with value only in case of the removal or resignation of the President.

You don't really want to go there, eh?

4. Cactus Jack Garner did NOT say being VP "isn't worth a pitcher of warm spit"
Well, he didn't say "spit", anyway.

3. Her Senate seat - for a while because with her on the ticket
we will lose for sure.

The GOP will finally get really enthused about McPain and punch out the money and 527s.

Swing voters will let Hillary Hatred push them toward McPain andthe GOP will happily run against her as if she were the top of the ticket -- and the sheeple will believe them.

The media will concentrate on the continuing drama and strains between the top two on our ticket and voters will just get so damn tired of friction and stress, that they will not turn out enough.

I do not want drama - I want a solid ticket with someone who complements Obama instead of trying to overshadow him at every step.

She and her formiddable talents are needed in the Senate - or a Cabinet post - or a Supreme Court pick -- just, please, please please not as VP.

6. I don't know if she'd wnat to stay in the Senate
because she'd be a worse pariah under those conditions than Lieberman is today.

7. If, as many say, Obama is a shoo-in, then HRC will be positioned for 2016 AND ...
even if Obama loses, she'll be extremely well-positioned for 2012. After all, no one wanted to try Kerry again in 08, but lots of people backed Edwards, as he wasn't blamed for Kerry's defeat.

Leveraging her way on the ticket is a virtual NO LOSE proposition for Hillary. WHY would she want to put herself in such a position? BECAUSE SHE WANTS TO BE PRESIDENT, EINSTEIN!
